"So, long story short, I'm here because the government had me committed. All just because I wanted to rescue my best friend from an evil lunatic," said Trinity, wrapping up her story.
Anita was speechless. What were the odds that she would come across someone who had encountered Loki as well?
"Annnnd you probably think I'm cuckoo now, huh?" Trinity said, reacting to the surprised and confused look across her face.
"No, I believe you!" exclaimed Anita, breaking her stunned silence. "Because I actually know Loki. More than I ever wanted to."
Trinity froze. Then, she looked at her oddly. "Um, what? You better not be messing with me. I'm not in the mood for it."
"I promise I'm not."
"Well in that case, how the hell do you know him?"
"Because, he is the reason I'm in here. He framed me for a murder. My friend's murder."
Trinity snickered. "Oh wow, sounds like he's up to his old tricks. He did a similar thing to Nicole. But wait, why did he frame you?"
"Because he wanted me to be his slave and I refused."
"He wants you as a slave too? He just can't get enough, huh? First Nicole, now you."
"My understanding is that he wants me as a slave so that he can marry Nicole. He doesn't want her as a slave and a wife I guess."
"Marry her?! Oh god. I can't imagine how she is feeling. Is she okay? Has he hurt her?"
"No, not from what I could tell the last time I saw her. She just seems a bit brainwashed. She does have this weird brace on one of her legs though. I don't know why."
"That was from when she escaped Asgard before. Loki injured her leg really bad with his scepter."
Anita could not help but laugh jovially. "Wow, what are the odds that we met each other? In the same city, in the same mental hospital?"
"I know. It's crazy." Trinity shrugged. "I guess the universe wanted us to find each other."
Suddenly, an orderly entered the room and told them that recreational time was ending.
"Well, it was nice talking to you. You're the first person in here that I could truly be myself with," said Trinity.
"Maybe we can talk again tomorrow?" said Anita. "Same time and place?"
"Sure. But maybe we can check out the music room tomorrow instead. I could teach you how to play the harpsichord."
"What's that?"
Trinity laughed. "It's like the piano. I'll show you tomorrow."
Anita smiled warmly. "I would like that. Alright. Tomorrow."
As she was led back to her room, Anita's smile did not leave her face. She was happy. For the first time in ages, she felt true happiness. Maybe being locked up in a psych ward would not be too bad. She had a friend now.

TWO MONTHS LATERNicole sat in the golden bathtub in the bathroom in her chambers. She was enjoying the feeling of the warm water on her skin.
A bar of soap levitated in the air in front of her. Using the sorcery she had been teaching herself, she moved the soap towards herself and rubbed it against one of her slim arms. She giggled. After practicing Asgardian magic daily for a little over two months, she was getting better at it. For a little while she believed that she would never be able to effectively do it. She struggled to feel and manipulate the energy within her. However, after a bit of meditating, she found it easier. She was thrilled. Her, a girl seen as a simple, weak Midgardian could now do what all Asgardians could do.
But she still had a lot to learn. Her energy blasts and beams were good but not powerful enough. The shields she created protected her but could easily be broken. She had a long way to go. Still, her progress pleased her.
Meanwhile, Loki was in the throne room, sitting on his throne, idly playing with a dagger. His head was down. It had been over two months and nothing had changed with Anita. He had been expecting her to break while she was locked up. That ended up not being the case. To make matters worse, she was no longer in a prison. Instead, she was in an asylum for the mad. At first, there was a glimmer of hope for him. He believed she would be more unhappy there, surrounded by insane Midgardians, some of them violent. He soon realized that he was dead wrong. She seemed comfortable. Also, she had made a friend. Trinity, Nicole's former friend. The two of them had befriended each other quickly and now, she appeared to actually be...enjoying her time in the hospital. It filled him with an intense rage.
He had considered giving up on her and finding someone else. A weaker Midgardian more likely to obey him. However, he was not one to give up on something. Not that easily. He liked to be challenged and she was a challenge.
His frustration had reached a boiling point. He abruptly stabbed one of the arms of the throne with a furious grunt. He cursed himself over and over. He believed that his failure to make her his slave was due to him being too soft. Too kind. He had been much tougher in the past with Nicole and he had succeeded in making her his slave.
During his reflecting, he realized how many chances he had given her. Why did he tolerate all of her noncompliance?
He had tried in several ways to coerce her to be his slave and come to Asgard. He had tortured her mentally and physically. He beat her, he gave her the pain serum. He made her relive her father's death. He nearly killed her mother and caused her to alienate herself from her best friend, Sophie. Finally, he killed her love interest, Caspian. Despite all of this, she still resisted.
The only choice he had left was to take her by force. No more games. He had not wanted to do such a thing. She was but a diminutive Midgardian woman. It was too easy and again, he liked a challenge. He wanted her to come willingly, unresisting, of her own accord. But he had came to the conclusion that that would not happen any time soon, if ever. He had no more tricks up his sleeve. He was done playing the benevolent master. From now on, he would be ruthless.
He would retrieve her the following day. Pleased that he had found a solution to his problem, he felt his mood lift a tad. He stood and exited the room. He wished to see Nicole. He had not seen her in days, too angry and distracted to spend time with her. He wanted to speak to her about their marriage. At long last, he could begin planning it. Once Anita was captured, nothing would be standing in the way of them unifying. She was still uneasy about it. From her mannerisms, he could tell. That was something else he needed to find a solution too.
He made his way towards her room, his dark green cape flowing behind him. A brief time later, he arrived at the door to her chambers. He adjusted his clothing and hair and then entered quietly.
