Anita woke up slowly the next morning without an alarm clock. She checked what time it was on her phone. She had thirty minutes left to sleep. Not wanting to be late for her first class and wanting to have enough time to get breakfast, she decided to get up and get ready. She brushed her teeth, took a shower, put on a black mini skirt and a black and purple striped long sleeved shirt. She brushed her wavy shoulder length hair that she had dyed a pastel pink. Then, she put on her black backpack and black vans. Finally, she picked up her purple skateboard and left.

She rode her skateboard to a coffee shop. She got a chocolate mocha and a bagel with strawberry cream cheese. She sat down next to a window and enjoyed her breakfast slowly. She had plenty of time to get to class. There was no rush.

Her gray iPhone buzzed. She looked at it. Her mother had texted her. She read it.

Good luck on ur first day. I luv you.

Anita smiled. She quickly typed back a reply.

Thanks. Love u too.

She put her phone down and returned her attention to her food.

By the time she was finished eating, it was about time to make her way to class. So she got on her skateboard again and rode to the building her class was in.

She arrived at the building ten minutes before class was supposed to start. She took an elevator up to the second floor and then walked down the halls, looking for 214. She found it with ease. The door was closed but through a small window she could see inside. Some were already in class, sitting. Anita put her hand on the door knob to open the door but stopped when her nerves got the best of her. She took a few deep breaths, adjusted her clothes and hair and then turned the knob. She pushed the door open and entered.

Several people sitting down looked back at her. She felt her heart start to race. She ignored everyone and sat down in an empty seat in the back. She pulled out her phone and checked her social medias since she didn't know what else to do.

After ten minutes, the whole class had arrived and class began. The professor, a skinny young woman wearing a black pencil skirt and a white blouse with low black heels stood before the class.

'She looks like a professor you would see in a porn,' thought Anita. She giggled to herself.

The woman pushed her big black glasses up and smiled.

"Good morning, class. My name is Professor Huggins. You may only call me that, thank you very much. Welcome to film class. You're all aware that this is film class, correct?"

Some people nodded, some replied with a quiet yes and some, Anita included, said nothing at all.

"Good," said Professor Huggins. "I hope you all came prepared to work because we're going to jump right in. None of that all about me crap that the teachers made you do in high school. Before I tell you what exactly you're going to be doing, I need everyone to find a partner. One. You have two minutes."

Anita didn't know who to partner up with. She knew no one at all. She didn't bother to ask someone if they wanted to be her partner. She just sat still and watched as others paired up.

"Hey."

Anita looked up when she heard a gentle male voice. She noticed a guy standing beside her. He had short fluffy brown hair. He wore black jeans, a white shirt and a black jean jacket. She felt her face heat up. He was gorgeous. He had soft features and icy blue eyes.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"I noticed you sitting alone. Do you want to be partners?"

How could she say no to someone so cute? "Sure."

"Cool." He sat down in the empty seat next to her. "I'm Erik by the way."

"Hello, Erik by the way," replied Anita with a small smile. "I'm Anita."

He smiled. "Nice to meet you."

"Your two minutes are up! I hope everyone has a partner," said Professor Huggins, now eating a cup of greek yogurt. She sat on her desk.

Everyone did have a partner. The class was silent, waiting for Huggins to speak again.

She assigned them their first project. It involved making a short film using at least 10 different camera shots. Anita wasn't extremely excited about it. But she would make the best of it. She loved anything that had to do with film. Being a filmmaker was her dream. And she was partnered with a cute boy after all.

After an hour of brainstorming and chatting with Erik, class ended. Anita and Erik walked out of the class side by side.

"We can keep brainstorming tomorrow and hopefully we can start filming by Thursday," Anita said.

"Alright. Sounds good," said Erik with a charming smile.

They got in the elevator together and waited for it to take them down to the first floor.

"So...I was wondering. Would you maybe like to go hang out at my place? It's a studio apartment. We could work on the project and get to know each other bet-"

He was not able to finish his sentence because when the elevator doors opened, Anita squealed. She stepped out of the elevator and ran into the open arms of a slim girl that was about an inch or two taller than her.

"Oh my god, Sophie. I didn't know you were going to this college too!" said Anita.

"Me either!" said Sophie with as much excitement as Anita.

They let go of each other.

"How have you been, girl?" asked Sophie, brushing some of her long blonde hair away from her face.

"I've been good. How about you?"

"Awesome! Even better now. I haven't seen you in...two years?"

"It's felt like even longer."

Anita noticed that Erik was still standing near her.

"Sorry, I have to go. I haven't seen Sophie in like...ages. We go wayyy back. But we can hang out later. I promise," she said.

"That's alright. I'll see you around," he said.

"Bye," she said. She turned back to Sophie. "Want to go get some coffee so we can catch up? My next class isn't for about two hours."

"Sure! My class doesn't start for about three hours," said Sophie.

They walked off together. Erik watched them walk away.

"Bye."
