Loki climbed atop Caspian, who was laying on the floor, holding his face, groaning in pain from being punched. Loki put one hand on his chest to hold him down. Next, with his other hand, he took his dagger out of his coat pocket and in one quick motion, stabbed Caspian in his abdomen.

"No!" screamed Anita.

Caspian gasped. He did not feel it at first. Then, he began to feel a sharp, burning sensation.

Loki removed the knife from his stomach. He held it up to his face and gazed at the thick red blood that coated the blade. It dripped off of it, onto the white carpeted floors.

"You have no idea how long I have wanted your blood." He let out a sigh of ecstasy. "You haven't any idea how amazing this feels."

Before Caspian could say or try to do anything, Loki stabbed him again, this time a little to the left of where he had stabbed him before. A small grunt escaped Caspian's mouth as the knife was plunged deep inside him again. Loki twisted the blade. A wild laugh escaped his mouth.

"Even better the second time."

Anita was frozen. She could not think. She could not react. Her brain could not process what her eyes were seeing.

He removed the knife from him. Blood gushed from the wound.

"She told you to stay away from her. To forget that she existed. But did you listen? No. You pursued regardless."

Caspian was hyperventilating, now in a state of panic. He told himself internally that this was not real. There was no way he had been stabbed by Loki, the comic book character.

"I don't appreciate your interactions with her. Your touching her. Your kissing her. You having relations with her. Putting that tiny little bit inside of her."

"Please," Caspian struggled to say. "Please, don't kill me. I'm sorry."

His pleas fell on deaf ears. Loki stabbed him again, this time in the right side of his chest. Breathing suddenly became harder for him. Since he was laying down, blood was pooling in his trachea. He could not sit up. Unless Loki decided to lift him up, he was going to drown in his own blood. He was sputtering and choking and coughing. Tears were filling his eyes.

"I need her. There is someone back home, in Asgard. A beautiful Midgardian woman. The most alluring of them all. My love. I am going to unite with her. Before I can do that though, I need someone to take her place as my slave. Anita."

Caspian squirmed, trying with all his might to sit upright. It was impossible, though. He was still being held down and on top of that, he was in unimaginable pain in his stomach and chest from the stab wounds.

"What's the matter?" Loki asked sarcastically. "Can't breathe?"

He could not talk. All he could do was look around wildly while desperately trying to get a breath of air. He was beginning to pass out. As he eyes began to roll back, Loki grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and lifted him up, in a reclined position. Breathing became a bit easier as the blood pooling in his trachea was brought down by gravity. He still struggled to breathe but at least he was no longer drowning in blood.

Loki returned the dagger to his coat pocket. "I'm going to finish you off now. I would love nothing more than to torture you horrifically for hours on end. But I would rather make this short," he snarled in his face.

With that, he let go of his collar, resulting in Caspian falling onto his back. He stood and placed his foot onto his chest to hold him down. Then, he conjured up something even worse than a dagger. A sharp, golden sword. It gleamed in the light, clearly having been polished recently. He brandished it about for a moment, showing it off. When he finished it, he lifted it above his head.

"You don't even deserve to have any last words. Goodbye, Caspian."

Caspian had given up. He had came to the conclusion that he was not getting out of this. He could not save himself and Anita most definitely could not. He knew he was going to die.

He looked at Anita, who was staring straight at him, worry apparent in her eyes. He hoped that whatever happened when he was gone, she would be okay. He hated himself for failing her. If he had just been stronger or quicker, they could have escaped. They could have been safe and happy together.

He thought back to the first time they kissed, in the coffee shop. It had been so magical. Then, he thought back to last time they had kissed, when they had hooked up at the lake while high on drugs. Right before everything went completely wrong. It was his final thought.

Loki brought the sword down on his neck with all his strength. The sword cut through his skin, muscles and bones like they were made of nothing but paper.

Anita jumped when he brought the sword down. Then, nothing. She did not cry. She did not scream. She could do nothing but stare. She backed away, almost involuntarily until her back hit the wall. She slid down it slowly. She had to sit down. Her legs felt weak.

What she was seeing could not have been real. It was too shocking. Caspian's head was barely still attached to his neck. Despite what she was seeing, she had to be wrong. Her eyes had to be mistaken.

Loki's back was to her. He was looking at Caspian's unmoving body, a smirk across his face.

"At last. He's dead."

He sent the sword away, using sorcery. He turned around to face her and observed her. Her face was pale.

She did not look at him. She was still staring at Caspian. She could not form any words for a short while. Her mouth twitched as she tried to. When she at last found her voice, it came out quiet and shaky.

"No. He's not dead."

"Yes. He is dead. I decapitated him."

She shook her head. "No. He's not."

He laughed at her outrageous claim. "No? Go on. Take a closer look. He looks very dead to me."

After staring and staring for another minute, she worked up the courage to stand up and walk over to his body. She dropped down to her knees and put her hands to his bloody wounds. She slowly moved them up to his face. It was cold already. She jumped back when his head slightly rolled to the left, towards her.

It was real to her now. His gruesome death had been real.
