8.5. Juro's Perspective [Flashback: Two Days Ago: Sunday Afternoon]

On Sunday where Y/n and Juro was supposed to hang out for their second day, their plans have been cut short.
Y/n went home to talk to her parents as well as have other plans with her family.
Unable to stay alone...
For the time being, he went to a theater for four and a half hours before coming back home to take a nap.

As he came home though...

Juro: "That's strange."
Juro: "The front door was locked before, now it's unlocked."
Juro: "I hope there wasn't a break-in."

He walks around cautiously to make sure there wasn't anyone suspicious around.
He makes it to the living room and makes out an unknown girl in his kitchen, currently chopping vegetables for lunch.

Juro: "Huh?"

The mysterious girl walks up to him and smiles.
She had the same girl's school uniform as Sakura High, with high thigh black stockings, her fair brown hair completely down with glasses to top it off.

Juro: "You're..."
Juro: "You're from my school, right?"
Juro: "I think we're in different—"

Out of the blue, she hugs him.
Juro taken by surprise, he doesn't hug back, he'd rather have her get off of him.

???: "It's been 40 years..."
???: "I've missed your touch..."

Juro: "H-h-Huh?!"
Juro: "J-just what are you talking about...?"

Juro kindly yet forcefully pushes her off.

Juro: "H-hold on, back up."
Juro: "What are you doing in my house?"

???: "I'll be renting a room starting today."

Juro: 'S-she's renting a room here today?!'
Juro: 'Oh no..."
Juro: 'But that was supposed to be for Y/n-san when she was ready to move out...!'
Juro: 'I can't just let a random person, let alone a random girl into my home like this...!'

???: "My name is Megumi Yakushiji."
???: "Hello there."

Juro: "You're... joking, right?"

Megumi: "I spoke with your landlord, Tamao Kurabe."
Megumi: "She gave me this rental agreement."
Megumi says, holding the rental papers.

Juro: "My grandma?"
Juro: 'No way... how did she get in touch with grandma?'
Juro: 'Even further, when did she get those rental agreements from her?!'

Megumi: "I've already moved in my furniture."

Juro: "Geez... I mean, yeah, there was an empty room..."
Juro: "And she said she was planning to rent it out, but..."
Juro: "I didn't expect it to be a girl from school!"
Juro: 'But that was supposed to be for Y/n-san when she moves out.'
Juro: 'What were you thinking, Grandma?'

Juro: "Ugh, there's no way."
Juro: "I can't do this."
Juro: "Grandma's going to be out all three months."
Juro: "She's currently visiting relatives back in Shimane."
Juro: "That means it's the two of us here."
Juro: "If the school finds out..."
Juro: "We're going to be expelled!"

Megumi: "Well..."
Megumi: "That wouldn't be so bad."
Megumi: "If I'm with you."

Juro: "What?!"

Megumi: "Anyway..."
Megumi: "I need to start on dinner."
Megumi: "As thanks for letting me stay with you..."
Megumi: "I'll be taking care of your meals."
Megumi: "I hope you like it."

Megumi walks off to the kitchen to start on dinner.

Juro: "Hey, wait!"

Megumi: "Hm?"

Juro: "..."
Juro: "N-never mind..."

Megumi: "I see."
She smiles and goes straight back to preparing their meals.

Juro: "..."
Juro: 'This is something I have to keep a secret from everyone...'
Juro: 'Especially Y/n-san herself...'
Juro: "..."

Juro painfully and silently whispers to himself, that he was unable to keep his promise to her first.
Juro: "I'm so sorry, Y/n-san..."
Juro: "I couldn't keep our promise..."

Juro: 'If she does manage to find out...'
Juro: 'Would she...'
