Being Terzo's wife comes with a lot of responsibilities. First, becoming Mama Emeritus III was a month-long trial to prove your devotion to him. Second, baring the children of Emeritus. Third, raising all of the ghouls and ghoulettes that are summoned. Fourth, being a symbol of peace, unity, and love. So yeah, it was daunting. Secundo just took over as the main Papa of the church, Terzo's time was coming and you were terrified. Every clergy member understood the fates of the Papas who couldn't deliver the message to their liking.
"Mama?" A small voice drew you out of your dark thoughts, "Yes, Sunshine?" You respond, "Sodo won't stop being mean to me." She tugged on the skirt of your simple black dress. You look in the corner and see a toddler Sodo and Swiss wrestling over a toy train, "Sodo. Swiss." You gently scold. They look up at you with their wide eyes. Your heart melts at how their small horns were barely peeking out of their forehead. Before you know it they'll be all grown up, "You know we must share, and you know your sister likes the trains too. How about we all play with the train?" The three nodded quietly and started to place the wooden tracks together. You crouch down and start to hum the Thomas the Train Engine theme song. You did have a life before the church, and you wish you could take the ghouls and ghoulettes out side one day, "Mama what song are you singing?" A tiny Mountain asked moving to sit in the circle with his other siblings, "It's an old song from when I was a child." You say patting his head, "Wow! That must be from a long time ago!" An excited Cumulus said toddling over too, a shy Cirrus waddled behind, clinging to your arm, "Well, I'm not that old!" You say dramatically, all of the toddlers laugh, "Mama where is papa?" Aether asked, walking over to stand in front of the blue painted door with a little toy guitar. You smile and stand, walking over to the one ghoul who seemed too observant, "Papa will be here later," you pick him up, he starts to giggle, "You know he is a busy man" You start to tickle his sides and he giggles. You set him down and he goes to join the others.
Sitting in the corner, alone, but not sad was Rain. He was always bashful and shy, but usually would join his siblings in larger groups. You sigh, and walk over. He doesn't notice you standing behind him, so you sit beside him, "Hello Raindrop." You say softly so as to not alarm him. He finally navigates out of his mind maze and turns to you with the biggest smile, "Mama!" He reaches his arms out to you, you gently hug him and place him in your lap. He immediately curls into you. You hold his body with your left hand, stroking his chubby cheek with your right. He purrs at your touch and smiles more. His smile is always the biggest, you hope it never goes away.
After a moment or two, the church bells chime for eight o'clock. Terzo's late again. You try to not look disappointed, but he is missing out on family time. Aether can already play a g-cord, Cirrus sings like her mother, Rain started playing bass, and Swiss can do everything. Mountain has grown so much in the past week, he is up to your hip in height. HE IS FIVE. Plus you've been extending their bed time from seven to eight in hopes that their Papa would be able to play with them before they sleep. You know he can't help it, but still, "Alright my loves, bed time!" You were met with groans and complaints, "No complaining, sleep is how you grow! Come on ghoulettes first." All of the small creatures put their toys away and walked over to their beds, shaped like coffins of course, but they were painted pastel yellow, pink, blue, and purple. The boys turned their backs to face the wall while you helped the ghoulettes into their nightgowns. Sunshine's is yellow, Cirrus wears purple, and Cumulus wears blue. When they're finished you call for the boys, "Okay ghouls your turn." As usual, Sodo and Swiss rush to get to the front of the line, Aether stays back to let them fight, and Rain hides behind Mountain, "Sodo, you went first last night, it is Swiss's turn" The two line up accordingly. Their pajamas were pants and a shirt. Once each ghoul started to show interest in an instrument, Terzo bought them all pajamas that matched. Each pair was a light gray shirt with a print of their instrument on the front. The pants are black and have the same print but smaller. Swiss's has a tambourine, Sodo a white guitar, Aether's a matching guitar, but black, Mountain has a drum set, and Rain has a black and white bass.
