"Rain?" You ask quietly entering your dark shared room. The bed was unmade, his shoes were beside the door, and his mask was on his dresser. He had to be home. You quickly pull off your shoes and drop your bag. The bathroom light was on, soft sobs coming from behind the door.
You knock, "Rain?" The sobbing continues, "Raindrop, it's me, it's Y/n. Can I come in?" The sobs grow, he sounds like he's on the floor. You try to open the door by turning the handle again, it doesn't budge. You take a breath, "Sorry, love. I'll fix it later." You whisper, backing up from the door. You kick right by the door knob, the wood bursts open, you gasp at what it reveals.
Rain sits curled up on the floor, his knees hugging his chest, his head buried between his knees, "Oh my Satan..." You mumble, quickly kneeling beside him, taking his shaking form in his arms, "Rain, baby, what happened?" You ask, quickly running one hand through his hair and kissing his forehead. He doesn't respond, he just clings to you, "Rain, honey, I can't help if you don't tell me what happened. Just breathe with me okay." He nods into your chest. You both sit on the floor, breathing deeply. Rain's tears subside, "Do you want to talk about it?" You ask softly, "no." He weakly says, his body exhausted from the emotion, "Let's go cuddle in bed." You say, helping the water ghoul out of the bathroom.
He follows, instantly purring into your neck as you both shift onto the pillows. After a few minutes of silent cuddles and kisses, you speak up, "Why do you break down when I'm not here? I thought we worked on a process to help you stop having panic attacks that severe." Rain sighs into your neck, "I don't know, I think I just need physical touch to calm me down." He admits, a blue blush covering his cheeks. You giggle softly, "Rain, if you just need physical touch, I think I have a solution." He sits up and looks down at you, "You'll never leave me alone again?" You both laugh, "No, but I think we can get something that can." He raises an eyebrow in confusion, "Let's go!" You say excitedly, dragging Rain out of the room.
Rain's eyes lit up as you both stepped out of the car, "Y/n, we can't, the ministry says no pets!" He argues, you grab his hand and roll your eyes, "Copia said it was okay, now come on. I want a fur baby!" He laughs, but lets you drag him into the pet adoption building, "Lead the way, Raindrop!" You say, stopping in front of the cat kennels, "I can't, Y/n you pick." He fires back, pushing you lightly in front of him, "Alright, alright." You start walking, slowly through the aisle, waiting for the moment you feel Rain stop moving.
About half way through the aisle, you feel Rain tug on your arm. You turn and see his big, blue eyes glow, "Found someone?" You ask with a smile, he doesn't respond. You look in the kennel and see a small, black ball of fluff with the same, big blue eyes Rain has. The kitten moves to the front of the kennel, it's blue eyes staring up at you, her little paw pushes against the grate, you squeeze some fingers into the crate to pet her, Rain does the same, they both purr.
Rain wouldn't let the kitten sit in the crate as you drove home, he held her with one hand, the other pet behind her ears, they both still purred, "What are we going to name her?" You ask turning into the Church's parking lot, "I don't know yet." he whispers, not wanting to wake the sleeping kitten, "We'll figure it out." You say reassuringly, pulling out all the bags of food, toys, and other cat necessities from the back seat.
You both finish building the cat tree as the kitten sleeps in the middle of the bed. You move over to the bed, tired from the adventure, and gently pick up the kitten. Rain lays down beside you, placing one arm over your shoulders, the other petting the top of the kitten's head, "Rain," You whisper, he hums in acknowledgement, "We need to name her." He sighs, thinking for a second.
The kitten wakes up and bats Rain's hand away hissing, Rain hisses back, "How about Kraken? The little monster hit me." He jokes, "I like it! Hello, Kraken." The kitten purred as you pet her, Rain's face fills with jealousy, "Why does she like you more?" He pouts, "She'll come around in time, don't worry, babe." You comfort, straining your neck to give him a gentle kiss, a fuzzy nuzzle against both of your faces broke the tender moment, "Kraken!" You laugh, Rain picks up the kitten, "You little, snake." He jokes, moving the cat to rest on his chest, she quickly curls into him, "See, I told you she'd like you!"
You smile, loving how his tail flicks back and forth happily, "I want to have kits with you one day." Rain mumbles clearly not meaning to say that out loud, "I do too." You say with a smile, he flushes and looks at you embarrassed, "I-um." He stutters. You place a hand on his cheek, "Not now, but in the future, I would love to have kits with you." You kiss his cheek, he smiles, "Let's just be able to raise a cat first." He jokes, you both laugh.
