TRIGGER WARNING - MEDICAL PROCEDURES

Sodo and you were laying in your bed. You lay on your side, head resting on his shoulder, arms resting on your now huge stomach. One of his hands ran through your hair, the other was placed on your stomach as well, "Are you feeling better?" He whispers. You shake your head 'no' and groan. This morning was hell. You started having contractions, but the nurses told you to stay home for another day before giving birth. It was hell. Your entire body felt hot. Like lava was searing through your veins. The nurses tried to explain that having fire ghouls causes the body to naturally heat up, but that it shouldn't be an issue. It was becoming an issue. Sodo quickly removed his hand as the heat from your body started to burn him, "Babe, that's not supposed to happen. I'm taking you back." He gets out of the bed, picks you up and rashes through the halls, back to the infirmary.

He kicks open the door, the sister sitting at the desk mumbles something under her breath, clearly annoyed, "Ghoul. What are you doing?" She asks, "She's heating up, I'm a fire element and it hurts to hold her, please." The nurse walks over and shakes her head and places a hand on your stomach. She flinches slightly, "It's normal for a ghoulette's body to heat, we told you already." Sodo snapped his head up from your pained face to the nurse, "She's human." The nurse looks confused, "What?" "She's human, she's not a ghoul." Her mouth drops. She runs over to the desk and presses a button, several other nurses run out and take you from Sodo, placing you on a gurney and wheeling you away. Sodo goes to follow, but he gets held back by a man who was much bigger than he was, "Sorry sir, you can't go in." His eyes glow red, "It's my wife. It's my children." He growls, he pushes the man out of the way and runs after you.

Your body couldn't handle the rising temperature the twins were causing. You were literally burning up. Your brain starts to lull you into unconsciousness in an attempt to try and fix itself. You fall under its spell.

Sodo's POV

"Y/n!" I yell, desperately trying to find where they put her. If that asshole didn't hold me back I'd be with my wife right now. I can't believe that dumb nurse didn't realize she was human, now she could die and it's my fault. I turn the corner of another long hall, but I see her in a large room, alone. No nurses, no doctors. I hurriedly sat beside her and held her hand, "Y/n? My Satan, please wake up." I feel tears running down my face. She looks horrible, her body is bright red, she has ice packed around her, several IV lines in both arms, and she just looks empty. I don't know how long it took, but eventually her eyes flutter open, she immediately tries to sit up, but I move quickly and gently place my hands on her shoulders, "Y/n, my love, it's okay." My voice waves, "I'm here it's okay, you're safe they're helping you." She just looks at me tired. Her eyes have no shine in them, just dulled colors, "Sodo?" She asks weekly, I feel more tears fall, "Yes, yes it's me." I say now gently stroking her cheek, she leans into my touch. I smile at her cuteness.

Third POV

The sweet moment is ruined only a few minutes later by your agonizing screams. Your stomach starts to cramp, twist, and burn. Your back arches off of the bed. Desperate to get the pain to stop, you cling to Sodo, your nails digging into his arms. He lets you and reaches to hit the call nurse button. Two nurses came rushing in. They check your vitals, and your dilation, and page others, "Sodo, wha-what's going on?" You ask, your eyes closed, that familiar feeling of unconsciousness sweeping over you, "Stay awake, y/n, please, stay awake" He says, gently tapping your cheek, desperately trying to keep you conscious. It doesn't work. You pass out yet again. Machines start beeping and a nurse says something to Sodo, but he's too gone out of his mind to turn away from you.

She grabs his shoulder and forces him to look at her, "You have to make a choice right now. If we bring her into surgery to have a c-section, she or the babies or all of them could die. If we can only save one of them, who do you want saved?" Sodo paled. The thought of losing you or the kids becomes overwhelming, and now having to balance a life against a life was a huge burden. The nurses start to wheel you out to surgery, Sodo goes to follow but the nurse stays in his way, making him respond, "Save her." She nods and both run out of the room.
