Incoherent giggling

"Hey, 'Tello?"

"Yeah, 'Nardo?"

"Can I ask you somethin'?"

"I suppose. What is it?"

"Can you promise me, that you won't ever leave us?"

"What do you mean, 'Nardo?"

"I mean, well— I always see these siblings in the movies kinda just separate, in more ways than one—"

"'Nardo,"

"Yeah?"

"I don't think I can promise that. Things change, eventually we might have to- separate."

"Just, please? Please 'Tello? I don't care what the world thinks, or what stupid logic thinks! I just don't want you to leave me. ."

"'Nardo, I-"

"Hm?"

"I promise. . ."

"No- No we have to go get him!! It's been too long- I- He- he could still be okay!"
"Leo, Leo! Listen to me dude, we aren't leaving him. We just wouldn't have- we wouldn't have made it in time- You gotta understand Leo we couldn't risk our own and Mikey's safety, too."
"I- I know but- but he could be hurt. . He- he's still alive I know it-"
"Leo. . We'll go and find him. But you have to know the possibility that he very well could be-" He cut himself off, leaving it to Leo to figure it out on his own.
"Wh. . ? N- No! Raph no he isn't! He isn't I just know it!!" He shrieked, stepping back and turning to slice a portal back to the tunnel.
"Leo. . ."
"No, Raph! You don't know what you're talking about! You're- you're wrong!"
"Leo how would he have survived a two-hundred ton train?! You gotta realize not everything-"
"Stop!! He's fine! He's alive he has to be! He promised us he wouldn't let himself die so soon, he- he promised!"

The slider slashed open a portal, being met with only pitch darkness from the other end. He sprinted in, the portal beginning to close behind him.
Raph sighed and turned to look down at Mikey, who was clinging to his side.
"R- Raph. . What will happen if- if he's-"
"I- I dunno. But I'm hopin' he's alive."

The blue-clad skidded to a stop, looking around frantically before spotting a dim light in the distance.

Donnie's phone. .

It was illuminating a large form, a large, unmoving form at that.
He realized what exactly it was, gasping and sprinting towards it. "DONNIE!"
There was no response, not even a movement.
He fell to his knees beside the genius, picking up the phone and shining it directly onto him. He spotted rigid edges along the back, mostly seeing just very dim edges.

As if his shell was shredded. . .

"Oh- oh gods Donnie-? Donnie wake up-" He mumbled, gently shaking the unmoving form and beginning to cry. Wet, hot tears pooled his eyes as he received no response, not even a shift or a murmur. "Donnie. . Donnie please- please this isn't funny- C'mon man—" He pleaded, silence showering over the area other than the choked sniffles from the slider.

There was a rasped noise.

Then another.

It sounded like- like someone breathing. But it sounded forced and broken. It sounded like it was struggling.

He looked down, just barely feeling the rise and fall of the soft-shells rigid carapace. "Donnie- Donnie ohmigosh- okay- it's okay Donnie- I- I'm gonna get you outta here-" He looked around, unknowing of why he did so, since he couldn't really see anything. What do I do. . ? Crap I left Raph and Mikey—
There was a slight pause in the breathing, before it sputtered and started up again.
"It- it's gonna be okay Don— I promise. I- I—" He paused, suddenly getting an idea. "Don, you're really not gonna like me for this but I have to pick you up—"
There wasn't a response.
The slider sighed softly, gently maneuvering his arms underneath the large form of his brother. He slowly lifted him up, shifting him around so he lay cradled in his arms. He was mindful of the possible injury to the shell, though. He held back the urge to cry as he felt Donnie's head tilt back limply, his arms and legs dangling uselessly. He twisted a bit, picking up his Ōdachi from the track and slicing a portal in front of them.
