He sniffled, crying finally ceasing as he continued to lean against the slider. He sighed, hearing a small shuffling from just outside and slowly pulling away to wipe his face.
Leo helped, smiling and sitting beside him with an arm draped over his shoulders just loose enough that he could push it off if desired.
The two expected it to be Raph or April or something, but it was someone much less desirable. . .

Small pink feet padded into the room slowly, almost immediately recognized.
Leo subconsciously pulled Donnie into a protective grasp, scowling hostily to the rat man. "What the shell are you doing here?"
No. . No no— Why is he here did he overhear us-? Donnie thought, eyes pinpricks and breathing picking up slightly. He pulled his legs closer, as if to make himself look smaller.
The slider noticed the rising panic and shifted so he was in front of the latter, hopefully posing as a sort of shielded feeling from the rat for him.
"Leonardo, Donatello— I mean no harm, promise." He raised his hands in surrender.
"Do the others know you're here?" He growled.
"Yes, in fact they urged me to come and apologize about. . Everything—" He stated, lowering his hands slowly.
"Okay— Where are they?"
"They are in your Commons area. The room is three doors down from your lounge, as I was told to say."
"'Kay. ." He nodded slowly, not taking his eyes off the man. "And you're not lying?"
"No, I am not." He shook his head. "If you would like I can—"
"No, no we're good. We'll stay right here." He interrupted hurriedly, shaking his head quickly and narrowing his eyes.
"Alright. Understandable."

". . May I-?" He gestured to a stool somewhere beside the nightstand.
He went silent for a moment, glancing at the stool in question, before hesitantly nodding. "Fine."
He nodded in understanding, knowing the distrust that radiated from the blue-clad and making sure to honor his promise. He slowly made his way over to the stool, feeling the boy's eyes practically burning into him like hellfire as he did so.

A hellfire ready to spread if provoked.

He carried the stool back to the end of the bed, making sure to keep his distance as best as possible. He scrambled up onto it, huffing a few times as he finally situated. He looked back up at them, smiling faintly.
He didn't smile back. In fact, his eyes narrowed even more. "What was it you wanted—or rather were forced to say?"
Ouch.
He took a breath, sighing softly and making sure he didn't lose eye contact. "I am truly sorry, you two. I know it most likely doesn't mean much, especially with all I have put you all through, but I truly am. There is absolutely no excuse for the horrid things I have done and I understand that. And especially after finding out what happened to you all recently—and even a few months ago—I know I am at fault for everything. I have no idea what went on in my head when I did such things, and I fear I will never know. Nor will I come close to it. I just hope I can at least attempt to be better for you all- No, I will become better for you all. It doesn't matter how hard of a process it may be, or how long it may take. I will ensure you all do not feel threatened by my presence, and I will ensure you do not remember me as the horrid man I once was. I have had much time to contemplate my actions and how to better myself from them. Please just know I am sorry, I'm so, so, sorry. I hope that someday you will forgive, even if you do not forget." He surprisingly didn't break eye contact once as he spoke, tone as sincere as he could be.

"Cool." The slider replied, tone almost dismissive sounding. "You are right, we don't forgive you. But I will hold you to your statement."
"Understandable." He nodded.
"For now, you ain't goin' near me or Donnie for a long time. It's the other's choice whether or not they want you around them."
". . Alright. Thank you, Leonardo." He nodded.
"Yeah, whatever." He nodded back, slowly turning to the softshell to check on him.
The rat took it as a sign to leave, and promptly did so, returning the stool to its original place and walking out.
He waited a second before completely turning to face the softshell. "You alright bud?"
There was a small nod as he stared at the bed, scratching his right hand as he leaned against the latter.
"Hey, don't do that, 'kay? If you're gonna do that use my hand." He said quietly, gently grabbing his hands and giving a small squeeze and smiling.
". . But it'll hurt you."
"No it won't, it's fine."
"No, I'm not gonna hurt you—"
"You won't hurt me, I offered anyway."
"No, it's fine I'll stop, promise—"
He sighed softly. "Alright, but if ya ever need, I'm here Hermano."
