Shadow of Doubt

(Y/n)’s POV

I watch on top of a building as I see Ninjago City fall to ruins, fires spreading everywhere, and no other ninja in sight.

I hear a gasp and turn around to see my mother with a frightened expression.

"Why?" She asks, eyes full of fear.

I smirk and power up my fist with dark energy, "Because I'm the daughter of Garmadon, It's my destiny to destroy all that is light. and everything that betrays me!"

My eyes snap open and I wake up with a gasp. I sigh as I look around and find myself in my room, "Just a dream."

"Aww, and that dream was getting right at the good part,"

'Senka,'

"Joking! Kinda."

I sigh again before getting up and heading to the galley, where I find Morro who had just finished his breakfast.

"Looks like someone didn't get enough sleep last night." Morro teases. "You look horrible."

"Shut up, stupid ghost," I grumble, taking a glass of juice.

"Whatever, you up for some early morning sparring?" Morro asks.

"A chance to finally kick your butt? What do you think?!" I question excitedly.

"I think you mean, a chance for me to kick your butt again." Morro states.

We walk up on deck and get into our sparring positions.

We trade punches and kicks and then I manage to catch Morro by surprise by knocking him off balance, "Now is my chance!" I try going for a flying kick but Morro manages to grab my leg, "Oh, shoot."

"Oh, shoot is right!" Morro smirks as he suplexes me over his shoulder only for me to pull him with me. We roll on the deck until I ended up on top of Morro.

I blush at the sudden position, but then Morro takes the chance to push me off him and pin me to the ground with his foot on my stomach, "I win, again."

He takes his foot off my stomach and helps me up.

I groan, "I don't even want to know how many wins you have now."

"More than you that's for sure. It's kinda pathetic you haven't won once."

'It's not pathetic, he's just better at sparring than me.'

"But you can be better than him if you'd only try!"

'I just don't know how I keep losing?! I've tried everything!'

"It's because you're holding back,"

I get caught off guard by Senka's serious tone,"What?"

"I don't know why you continue to play nice.You're so much better than them, yet you still depend on them."

'They're my family, Senka. Of course, I depend on them.'

"That needs to change."

'What do you mean?'

Before Senka can answer, Cole rushes up on deck, "(Y/n) and Morro! You're needed in the bridge, Clouse has been found!"

"About time." Morro retorts.

Cole, Morro, and I head to the bridge while Senka groans.

"See? These guys always interrupt our conversations."
