With a Flick of my Tail

To the beach!

Hey again! I thought i'd add in one more today. See what you think. :)

Em, Kai, Zane, and me all got into Zane's car and took off toward the beach.

"Hey, Zane?" I asked him.

"Yeah?" he asked me trying to concentrate on the road. He's the one driving.  

"You guys are gonna go swimming with us, right?"

"Uhhh..... Sure." he answered shifting uncomfortably.

"No... Really, Zane. Are you going to go swimming or not?" I half shouted to him.  

"Oh look!" he said trying to change the subject. "There's the beach." We all got out and grabbed our stuff, hauling it down to the beach. It was nice and quiet - just the way we like it. We plopped our stuff in a pile near the water, but not close enough for it to get wet. We all stripped in the bathrooms nearby to get into our swim suits. Em and Kai had green swim suits on, and Zane and me had blue ones on. Em and I ran down to the water. Zane and Kai walked down to the water's edge and just stood there. They quickly exchanged worried glances. I stood behind Zane when a brilliantly evil idea popped into my head. I ran up behind him and pushed him into the water. "Payback!!!!", I yelled. "Woohoo!!!"

"Uh. Oh." That was all Kai could muster before Zane suddenly grew a huge blue tail fin right in front of my eyes. It was a vibrant blue with rainbow streaks in it. His blue Hawaiian swim trunks disappeared along with his legs.

"Woah..." was all I could say.

"Surprise!", he said nervously. "We wanted to tell you at the right moment, but I guess now is the right moment." He quickly hauled his fishy butt out of the water. Kai handed him a towel and he rubbed vigorously at his tail. When it was fully dry, his legs came back along with his swim trunks. He stood up and before I knew what was happening, he ran up behind me and pushed me in. "Ha ha!! Double payback!!! Victory is mine!!! Yeah!!!"

"Oh yeah? War is declared! Prepare for battle, Em!!! And you...", I pointed at Kai.

"Me?",Kai asked, pointing to himself.

"Yeah, you! Choose your side carefully!"

"Sorry, but I'm gonna have to choose my brother's side on this one. " And with that said, he pushed Emerald in next to me.

"What the... Why would you do such a thing!?!" Emerald asked him.

"I'm gonna get you when I get out!" I yelled at Zane.

" Mmm hmm. If you get out in time."

"Wait. Woah. What did you just say?"

"Hmm? What? Oh I didn't say anything."

"Uh huh. That's right. You batter haven't said anything."

"Three, two, one, and... cue tail.", Zane said. Right after he said tail, a slender bright blue tail with rainbow streaks in it popped up along with a matching top.

"What the...!?! What did you do to me!?!", I shriek.

"Nothing. You were born like this. And guess what, Em,... In T - minus 10 seconds, you too will have a tail.", Kai plainly told us. Well, he was right. Emerald sprouted a tail., too It is a bright seaweed green tail with matching top. Hers has the rainbow streaks in her tail, too. Woopdeedoo. "You two are actually not just any mermaids but princesses - heirs the Aquadian throne. Since you two are twins..."

"Wait. Woah. Hold on a second there, partner. Twins? How?"

"You two were born the same day weren't you?"

"Well, yeah."

"And the same year?"

"Of course", I told him.

"You're twins - twin sister mermaid princesses. And we're twins - twin brother merman princes."

"Well, that's a nice way to sum it up, eh?", Emerald said.

"So, since we're here we'd might as well go swimming.", Kai announced.
