Tracking.... Has to Wait

We ran through the woods following our guide who just so happened to be the guy apart of the group who took Dana, Uncle J or Jake. J was running full speed, dodging trees, roots, bushes, and small animals who were trying to escape the oncoming horde of wolves. "How much longer?", Zayn whined in my head.

I whipped my head around to glare at Zayn. "Really, Zayn?", I asked him.

"All I know is when we find the bast-", Kai started.

"Kai! Language!", Mom yelled at him. "Jake, the boys are getting restless. Do you know how much longer it is?"

"Well, that's what they are!"

"I don't care if you want to call them that! It's not nice! Would you want to be called that?"

"No.... unless I deserved it."

"Kai!"

"Wait! But what if there are girls?", I asked Kai.

"Well, then they would be called-", Kai got cut off again.

"Kai!", Mom yelled at Kai.

"Sorry."

I snickered. "You're such a know it all!", I teased Kai.

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Not!"

"Too!"

"Will you two just shut your mouths! Kai!" Mom turned her attention back to Uncle J. "Jake, please tell me we are almost there! They are driving me nuts!"

He sighed audibly. I didn't know you could sigh in your wolf form. Well, I didn't know we could transform into giant wolves either until a few days ago. "It shouldn't be much longer. It's right up this hill I think.", Uncle J responded.

"There! You see? It's not much longer. Now stop fighting!" They immediately stopped fighting and started concentrating more on running.

"Oh, thank goodness! I was beginning to get a headache from all your fighting!", I sighed in relief. Zayn and Kai started snickering in response to my statement. I just shook my head.

"This is it.", Uncle J announced. He paused at the top of the hill to scan the area. Everyone stopped right behind him. It looked like a medium sized camp consisting of tents and a few fire pits. Nobody could be seen throughout the camp.

"Where is everyone?"

"I don't know."

"Maybe they knew we were coming and ran for it?"

"I don't think so. They're smarter than that." He looked up at the setting sun. "Wow. It's almost seven. You should be getting home."

"Why?", Zayn asked stubbornly.

Uncle J looked at Zayn. "Don't you have school tomorrow?"

"Well, home it is! Now get moving.", Mom ordered everyone.

Kai looked at Zayn weirdly. "Race you!", He challenged.

"You're on!", He replied as they took off.

"Hey! Wait up!" I yelled, and we all started running after them.
