Half an hour later, he was still sitting there in the same position my mom left him in. My mom was watching him intently through the polarized glass wall. She could see him, but he could not see her - or hear her, for that matter. It was all sound proof. I walked over and stood next to her. I have questions, and she has the answers. "Jake?", I asked her.

Mom' s POV

I looked at her briefly. "Yes. He was my best friend growing up. His father is Alpha Scott Winters of the Colorado Territory. The rouges of the area decided to take over, so they joined forces with the local vampires. I was living in that area at the time. As the princess, I had to travel around and stay at different pack houses, hollows, forests, caves, castles, kingdoms and more. Basically, I had to stay with every high-ranking magus leader around the world. This wasn't a meet-and-greet. I lived, played, and went to school for a year with people that I hardly knew while my mother ruled the kingdom in her own palace with the people she knew best. I spent eighteen years abroad like that. When I stayed at Alpha Winters pack house for the year, Jake and I became very close friends, maybe even more than friends. He asked me to be his girlfriend, and I, being hopelessly in "love" with him, accepted. This was when I was sixteen - two years before I went through the coming of age. We were happy for several months. Sometime in September, the rouges and vampires attacked. They stormed the pack house, rouges attacking vulnerable wolves and vampires finishing them off. Jake and I were sharing a hideout spot on the top floor. Take my hand." She took my hand and I showed her what happened.

-------------*FLASHBACK*---------------

They came up the stairs. There were two large wolves and one large guy. The guy ripped open the doors, dragged the two of us out, and threw us across the room. Jake landed on the wall, but I got thrown against a table. There was a lake behind the house. I concentrated on the water. Floating a stream of it across the yard to the balcony. I grabbed Jake and started to run outside to the edge of the balcony. The two wolves blocked us off, snarling and snapping at us. The big guy came up behind us chuckling evilly. "Well, if it isn't Pure Blood Princess Elizabeth."

"Magnus.", I gasped. "What do you want?"

He shook his head. "What do you mean 'What do I want'. Oh, please tell me you haven't forgotten."

"Forgotten? just tell me why you're here and you may go."

He started chuckling again. "Go?"the chuckles turned to laughter. "Go?! I can't just go. Do you know how long I have waited for this?" He reached out to grab me, but his hand stopped midway and jerked back. "Ow! What is this?" He examined an invisible shield around me and started chuckling softly. "Of course. Your mother has put a shield around you. Oh well, If I can't have you, then I'll have him." Jake stiffened up.

'Run!', I sent to Jake over the mind link between us.

He looked at me and replied, 'How? If you haven't noticed, there's no way out.'

'Yes there is. Follow me.' I told him the plan. Grabbing Jake, we ran over to the edge of the balcony, right over the water bridge. The water bridge is out of sight, so they didn't know that it is there.

"End of the line, Sweetheart. There's nowhere else to run. Just give up. It's the easiest thing to do." I climbed on top of the balcony railing and pulled Jake up with me. Looking around frantically, I spotted the bridge. We shuffled toward the bridge while trying not to look suspicious.

They were getting closer. We were right over the bridge, so I linked Jake. 'Jump'.

He looked at me with a questioning look. 'Jump? We'll fall.'

I looked into his emerald green eyes. 'Trust me.'

'Ok.'

I turned to face the guy and whispered, "Never" right before both of us jumped.

We landed on the bridge and turned to look up at the balcony. The guy and the two wolves were leaning over the railing to watch us.

"Nice work, Lizzy.", Jake told me.

We ran until we heard a commotion behind us. The guy ripped the railing out of place and threw it to the ground. "Get them!", he roared.

The wolves jumped onto the bridge and started chasing us. They're gaining. We have to do something. 'Put up a shield', Jake sent me.

I looked at him quizzically. 'Why?'

'Just do it. I have a plan. I just need some time.'

'Ok.' I turned around and put up a force field. The wolves couldn't get through. I turned around and glanced at Jake who was stripping. I quickly turned back around. I did not need that image of my best friend in my mind. The wolves kept trying to break their way through the shield. I was losing strength. 'I can't hold this shield up much longer.'

'I'm ready. Put the shield down.'

'Put it down? Are you crazy?!'

'Just do it.'

'Alright. Fine. Just - whatever you have planned - be careful.'

'Alright.' And with that said, I let the shield down. A great black wolf jumped over me from behind to face the two brownish-grey wolves. One wolf completely ignored Jake and maneuvered around him while snarling at me.

"For a Pure blood at age eighteen, shifting is still somewhat dangerous to use in combat. For one thing, I was pretty scared. If Jake wasn't there, I would have freaked out and run away with my shield up. He defended me. In return for defending me, he got bitten by the large guy. He laughed as he bit him, too, and started saying things like I was weak and wrong and shouldn't have fought him. He threw Jake down to the side. Jake slid until he slammed into the railing. I did what I could do. I ran. Using my powers, I made the wolves fall off the bridge and cut off the bridge all together from the balcony. Running the opposite direction, I pulled out my phone and called my mom-your grandmother. Let's just say she wasn't happy. She swore revenge and all that stuff. I teleported to my home, and she hugged me and comforted me. I left Jake there because I thought he wasn't going to live. Normally, when a werewolf gets bitten by a vampire, they do not live. It's a one percent chance of them surviving the bite. If they do survive, they have a high chance of being turned and only five percent or so of staying just a werewolf. Ok? That's our history together." Suddenly, Zach walked in.

"He's ready to talk.", he said. He left the room, and we followed him out. We walked over to the window of his room. He was crying uncontrollably. I gulped as I would have to go back in there. I took a deep breath and walked into his room.
