School preparations

Zayn let me out of the cage and I shifted back to human form. I was furious, so I chased him again. "Hey! Why are you chasing me!", he panicked. "We let you out of the cage!"

"It's for putting me in the cage in the first place!", I yelled at him. I stopped in my tracks and Zayn was still running. "But I'm done now." I walked over to where the others were standing and Kai and Zayn joined us.

"It is now 6:55. Everyone, let's go back to the house." Everyone walked over to the portal and filed in. "Move over. Let me get to the door!" She put the crown on the door once again and the door opened, just like it had before. When everyone was inside the house, mom said, " Disperse! Go get changed, take a shower, and get ready for school!" I ran upstairs to my room that I shared with all the girls. I took a quick shower and put on a light yellow tank top and a pair of black jean skinny jeans. I put on my make up, grabbed my black converse, and ran downstairs to wait for everyone else. My books were already packed and waiting by the door. They were in a blue messenger bag with light blue swirls on in. On top of the bag was a smallish box with a note on top of it. It read 'Hope you enjoy your first day of school. Why don't you enjoy it in style. Hope you like your new ride. It's next to the garage. It's the blue one. Love, mom.' I opened the box to see a set of car keys.

"Thanks mom!", I yelled and ran out of the house to check out my new ride. It was a sleek 2013 San Marino blue BMW M6 series convertible. I gave it a quick look over and ran back inside. I saw that the others were ready and looking at their boxes. Even Kai and Zayn each had a box. Suddenly, Emerald ran outside in a rush. Alyssa, Kai, Zayn, Dana, Tavien, and Andre. I walked out the door behind them, grabbing my books as I went. Walking over to my car, I unlocked it, opened the trunk, and put my books in there. I looked inside mine and saw that it had leather seats and Sirius satellite radio.
I looked over at the others. We all had the same type of cars. Emerald's car was Sakir orange. Kai's was Alpine white. Zayn's was brownish-silverish. Dana's was silver. Alyssa's was a bluish black color. Tavien's was Black, and Andre's was a dark grey. Everyone was checking out their cars when the thought hit me. "Hey! Alyssa, Dana, Em!" They stopped examining their cars and turned to face me. "We don't have drivers licenses. Em and I only have our learner's permits." I quickly ran inside and found mom. She was organizing our bags In my room. "Hey mom." She looked up from her work.

"Yeah?", she asked me and went back to work.

"Uh... the cars you got us...."

She looked back up at me. "You don't like it? We can go..."

"No! No! We love them. It's just.... we don't have licenses to drive them.", I said slowly.

As soon as I finished saying that, she looked relieved, as if she were expecting me to say something else. "Oh. That's taken care of.", she said waving her hand at me. "Just look in your boxes. You each have a drivers license." I looked at her shocked. I was ecstatic to drive. I've had my permit since last fall so I'm sort of experienced.

"But.... how?....."

"Hmmm? Oh, the person in charge there knows your father and me. He's a merman. He is quite aware of your predicament."

"So he just gave them to us?"

"Yes. Under one condition. You have to drive safely. That means you and Emerald may drive and Kai and Zayn may drive. The others aren't allowed to drive until I am satisfied they can drive safely."

I stood there dumbfounded. We all just got free drivers licenses - free as in we didn't have to take a test. "Wow. Thanks! I'll go tell the others.
