Sneak Peak of book 2 --> "With a Patter of Paws"

She shuffled nervously in her seat. "Um... I'm not supposed to tell you that." She looked down, still nervous.

"I don't know about you, but if someone told me something this important, I would want to know the rest of it. Don't you think?"

She sighed. "Yeah, just... if I go missing, don't go look for me."

"Now-"

"No! Don't go look for me! You want to know the secret? This room is locked, and a special emitter is going off so that nobody outside this room can hear us. Somebody has told someone else this before somewhere in a room like this one. Somehow, though, THEY found out. Ok? Now do you understand? I really don't want to go missing right now, nor do I want you or anyone else to go find me and get yourself into trouble. Don't you see?! I CAN'T TELL YOU!" Tears started gathering in her eyes.

"How long have you been here?", I asked her.

She sighed. "Six years."

I looked at her like she was crazy. "How old are you?"

"Seventeen. That's how long I've kept my secret."

"Ashley, look at me. They'll find out anyways. It doesn't matter if it's said in a secure room like this or in the open. They WILL find out. Ok?" She nodded. "So please tell me?"

She sighed again. "The Hunters thapt captured me are actually Dr. Johnson's crew." My eyes grew wide as soon as she said that.

"Really? Wow. Then we need to find a way to escape. Who else is in on this?"

"Max is, and pretty much all of the 'attractions' here know."

I nodded. "We need to plan something. Something brilliant so nobody will find out about it until after the fact. Hmm." I tapped my chin with my index finger.

Ashley looked at the clock. "It's 9:00 P.M. How about we sleep on it?"

"Yeah, it's getting late. I don't know about you, but it takes all my energy to function." I got off my bed. Not even bothering to change, I pulled back the covers on my bed and started to climb underneath the covers. "Hey, Ash, don't forget to unsecure the room."

"Right. I almost forgot." She unsecured everything and ran back to her bed and climbed in. "Night.", she said as she turned off the light.

"Night."

Another update!

Sorry for the cliffhanger on the last one. I just couldn't resist. ;P

I really need to stop my story soon. Ya know what, I think I'm going to change it and stop it right there.

Yeah. That will work. This will be a series, so there will be more books!
