I followed the boy down a long corridor. It was dark and the walls were made out of rock. The only light coming in was from the lights at the base of the wall.
Every five feet or so, there was a door just like the one I had left through. We came to a well lit area after give minutes of walking down the hallway. It looked like a zoo's feeding room.
Using his swipe card, he opened a door and took a left out of that room into the main zoo area. The monkeys started howling and screeching. We were obviously in the mammals area.
He took another left, and we walked passed the tigers and bears and came to the aquarium section. This must be a big zoo if there is an aquarium in it.
The first attraction you see is dolphins tank on the left. As soon as they saw me, they swam up to the side I was beside and started trying to get my attention. I walked over to them and started playing with them, but the boy leading me cleared his throat to get my attention, and we kept moving. I waved goodbye as we walked away.
Soon, we came to an office building. He opened the door, and we walked inside. There was a receptionist sitting at her desk. She looked up for a brief moment only to reply with a "yes?". He flashed her his card, and she pressed a button on her desk and the doors down the hall buzzed and opened.
There was a hallway we had to go through. This hallway led to a big office room. There was a man sitting at his desk in one of those boss spinning chairs. He was a tall man, probably around 6' 9". I felt a little underdressed because he was wearing a business suit. he stood up and walked over toward me. He took a step toward me, but I unconsciously took a step back.
He chuckled to himself and held out his hand. "You must be Dana.", he asked me.
I shook it. "How do you know my name?", I replied.
He shook his head. "I have people everywhere. I make it my job to know who my guests are."
My anger swelled up at that. "Guest? Guest?! That wasn't being treated like a guest!" I waved my hand toward the doorway. "I was put in a cage for crying out loud!"
"Calm down. Calm down. I know it looks bad."
"Looks bad?! How would you like to wake up in a cage surrounded by people you've never met before!" I was starting to shake.
His eyes went big. "Well, you weren't hurt in any way, so please calm down." He sounded scared. I looked down at my hands. They were shaking really bad. I tried to get myself to calm down. I stopped shaking bit by bit. Finally, a few minutes later, I was completely back to normal.
He sighed. "Dana, I think it's time I explain myself."
