He nodded and said, "That's what I was hoping you'd say. I approve of you and Yang dating. My name is Taiyang Xiao Long, but please just call me Tai." He held out his hand and I shook it as I said, "Thanks, Tai."

Later that night, we were all at the dinner table, eating a meal that Tai had made for us. At one point, Tai spoke up and said, "So, Y/N, I don't think I've ever heard of your family before. Where are you originally from?" I sighed and said, "Have you ever heard of Vault-Tec and their vaults?" Tai nodded slowly and said, "Yeah, what about them?" I took a deep breath as I felt Yang's hand on my shoulder and I said, "I'm from Vault 180, located in Mountain Glenn. When everyone was rushed into the underground tunnels, my family were granted entry into Vault 180. We were then unknowingly put into Cryogen Stasis Pods. I've been unfrozen for only a few months now. I'm the only one who survived." I looked down as I felt Yang wrapped her arms around me to help comfort me. Tai looked at me in shock and said, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." I waved it off and said, "It's okay, I've been getting better at accepting it." Tai gave me a warm smile and said, "Well, if you want, you're more than welcome to stay here in between the school years, especially since you're dating Yang." I smiled and said, "Thank you. Yang was actually one of the first people I interacted with after I left the Vault."

Tai nodded and said, "I see. So what's with the weird robot thing that's in the other room?" I smiled and replied, "That's ED-E, or Eddie. He's an old eyebot I found and repaired. He's had my back ever since. I actually found out that he once knew my grandfather, who was a courier." I heard a beep from the other room and I replied, "Yes, I'm talking about you, deal with it." Tai raised an eyebrow and said, "You can understand him?" I nodded and said, "One of the very few benefits of my Pip-Boy is that it allows me to mentally understand what he's saying as long as I'm wearing it." Yang spoke up and said, "So, Dad, would it be okay if Y/N slept in my bed with me?" Tai looked at her for a moment before he answered and said, "That's fine, but you two better not be doing anything else in that bed." We both nodded as Ruby looked at the rest of us in confusion and said, "What else would they be doing in the bed? Kissing?" The rest of us started laughing at how innocent she was and Tai said, "I'll tell you when you're older."
