The streets of LA are so busy, but I love it. There's always been a part of me that calls for the city and the beach. Here, I get a piece of it all.
Because there were four of us and so much luggage, we had to take two separate cabs.
The whole ride, Ashely and I made faces at Liz and Star from the rear windshield. The drivers looked at us like we were crazy, and knowing they were right, we kept doing it till we reached the hotel.
The boys had given us the Dolphin hotel. It looked pretty nice from the outside, but all we really cared about was getting a good meal and finally resting.
The inside was pretty nice too, and with my mom's credit card, we got one room with two beds.
We were okay with sharing.
Actually we preferred it, and even though my mom said not to worry about over charging her card, I didn't want her paying too much.
Once we got to our room, we put our stuff down and we all changed into sweatpants and headed for the buffet.
As soon as we had settled at our table, I assessed our choices.
I had picked Chinese, while Ashely chose steak and chips. Star had a pasta salad thing, and Liz had settled on a hamburger and French fries.
We were so different, yet we were all making the biggest mess and getting food all over ourselves.
That's when I felt Star kick me under the table.
"What?" I asked.
She tilted her head, acknowledging behind me, and as soon as I turned, I regretted not wiping the sweet and sour sauce from my face.
My eyes fell right into Matthew's and he chuckled at my cheeks getting red and quickly grabbing a napkin. I smiled and turned back to my friends.
They were all staring at the boys, excluding Liz. She was more interested in the expressions on our faces, and rolled her eyes.
"Food is always more important," she remarked.
We paid her no mind, and I watched as they made their way to the table next to us.
"Ladies," awknowleged Shawn, but more to Ashely than to us. She smiled, and returned to her food.
"Gentlefish," replied Star to all the boys with a giggle.
"I will throw food at you girl," warned Nash.
"Yeah, and then you'll have a mob of us on your butt," I said.
"Ooh sounds like fun," said Matthew with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and returned to my plate.
"So we told you our names, but who are you ladies," asked Taylor.
Star spoke up. "I'm Star, that's Ashely, there's Dakota, and she's Liz."
We all smiled and were pleased when they smiled back.
"Well Dakota, if you don't stop looking at me like that, I'll be forced to whack you with a green bean," remarked Matthew.
"And then we'll all be attending your funeral," Ashely warned, but forced myself to stop staring.
That's when Liz said the dirtiest word I'd ever heard escape her mouth, and we all looked up to see Star with a french fry in her hair, and Taylor laughing his head off.
"Oh you've done it now," said Ashley, and next thing I knew, a piece of her steak went flying right at them, and we all laughed a little too hard when it slid right down the middle of Matthew's forehead.
He glared at until his eyes landed on me.
"Oh, so you think that's funny," he remarked.
Before I could respond, I had a sticky substance all over my face, and death in my eyes.
"FOOD FIGHT!" I screamed, and we were all using our trays as shields, and our food as weapons.
We barely even knew these boys, but I could tell we were going to have the best month with them here.
We were all knee deep in food by the time management got there, and they were not happy.
"HEY," the men screamed, and we all took off.
I found myself dragging Liz, who wanted to go back and get one of the guard's numbers.
"That was amazing," I screamed, as Liz and I ran farther and farther away from the hotel.
She busted out laughing as she stumbled to keep up with me, and I wondered how we were getting to our room tonight.
Oh well.
