After Anakin and I were brought to our little room and we were sure no one was listening, we discussed everything that had happened so far. It wasn't much, but the little we had seen since arriving on Ondaria provided enough to talk about.
First and foremost our discussion revolved around the fact that we both utterly despised the queen. Anakin even imitated her and I burst out laughing because he did it so accurately- changing his voice and clapping his hands and all.
('Now, aren't you a handsome one? And you, Y/N'- Anakin lifted up my chin with a finger to mimick the queen- 'absolutely precious, yes, so very precious indeed!', he said in an odd voice and then he pinched my cheek which really sent me.) There was just such a stark contrast between his impersonation of the queen and how Anakin would act normally, and that surely didn't involve him pinching me cheek which made it all the more amusing.

But besides fooling around, of course, the bad living conditions of the slaves also stayed in our minds and even if the mission demanded something else, we promised ourselves to do something to help them out of their misery. At the same time we also didn't forget about our original mission which called us to find Kindon, our secret contact person inside the palace, who we were supposed to get our lightsabers from.

The question was: how should we find that young man among the countless of servants, slaves and others that lived inside the palace and how should we go about it without arousing any suspicion? We couldn't just ask around for him, could we?

We didn't have much time to come up with a plan though, because soon our discussion was disturbed by someone hammering against the door. We were ordered to the Queen. She wanted us to be there for her afternoon tea which she was having with a cousin of hers, a middle aged man with black hair, exceptionally bright and piercing eyes, crooked teeth and with the annoying habit of clearing his throat every damn minute.

The tasks we were given for the tea were very trivial. All Anakin and I had to do was offer biscuits, occasionally stir the tea without letting the spoon clink against the porcelain, but above all we had to try not to lose our temper over the tiniest things that the queen found fault with and made us repeat. I guess she wanted to test us to see how well we would do in serving her because so far she had only been able to judge our guarding skills.

I don't think we made too bad of an impression on the serving part in the end. (Except for the one incident in which I dropped one too many sugar cubes into the teacup and the queen slapped me hard on the fingers in response, whereupon Anakin suffered a mysterious coughing attack which the Queen was then also irritated by.)

Luckily, most of our time was spent standing still and waiting for orders anyways which was good for us for two reasons: for one thing, there wasn't much that could go wrong with standing still, and for another, it gave us the opportunity to listen in on the conversations the Queen and her cousin were having. Not that they were discussing anything of particular interest, but it helped us to get a better idea of who the Queen was as a person and who she associated herself with.

After 2 long hours the tea was finally finished. The Queen and her cousin rose from their cushioned chairs and left the room and now Anakin and I were to clear the dishes and take them to the kitchen in the cellar. It was a simple instruction, but given that we didn't know where anything was yet, we had trouble finding the right way. And so, with the dirty dishes in our hands, we wandered through the confusing hallways of the cellar which almost felt as big as the palace itself and held many more things other than just the sleeping places for the slaves and guards.

It was pretty busy down here and we had to be careful not to bump into any of the servants who were hurrying around. In preparation for the upcoming dinner it seemed. Because soon, there were people carrying fruits and other food on shiny plates passing us by. It was evident now that they must have come from the kitchen, so we traced their path back- successfully, because a five minute walk and several turns around several corners later, it seemed we had finally reached our destination.
