Finally, the sweet old lady had left the room and with that there was no more need to keep up a show for her. Though, I have to say, being alone with Anakin, after everything the woman had said to him about how much I supposedly loved him, was not any less awkward- because as soon as the door was shut, he started his attack on me, not even granting me a second of peace. But I already knew this was coming. It had to or he wouldn't be Anakin Skywalker.

"Sooo...", he put a dramatic stress on the 'o' sound, "I am the embodiment of the word love it seems."
His gaze was intimidatingly confident but playful at the same time.
"That was a very charming thing to hear, possibly the most charming thing I heard someone say to me in a while- I mean someone I care about. Although I would have much preferred to hear these words and further elaborations coming out of your pretty mouth directly."

Oh god.
"Anakin-"

"-if you had told me this earlier, Y/N, preferably though the other day in our room- you know when- this whole mission could have taken a so much more pleasurable turn. For both of us, if only you let me-"

"Anakin! Obviously I was making all of this up on the spot. Nothing I said referred to you, like, in the slightest!", I interrupted him, before he could take his speech elsewhere...
I had hoped it would wake him up from his dream, but Anakin just stood opposite me smirking, unbothered by what I said.

"You know, Y/N, you may want to believe that you told that woman lies, but in every lie there is a bit of truth. You should think about that some time." Anakin winked at me. "You'll be amazed what things you can discover about yourself."

"Oh, and what would that be?", I asked, arms crossed in front of my chest, wondering what wisdom he had to share with me now.

"Mhm, I don't know... "
He thoughtfully rubbed his fingers over the stubble on his chin and his tone was sarcastic as he continued speaking.
"Maybe...you'll discover... that you shouldn't fight me anymore, fight how you truly feel about me? Maybe that you should pay more attention to what your body is telling you- and telling me, by the way. No.", he chuckled, "more like screaming to me. You know, I notice your breath hitching when I touch you, when I cup your face or kiss your hand. And I can see your body trembling when I stand too close to you. Just ever so slightly, but enough for me to notice- All I'm saying is it would be a shame to let this amazing energy that you're buzzing with go to waste. Waste it on me instead. I could put it to good use, I could turn it into something so much more exciting, I can guarantee that."

My knees felt weak and my cheeks were burning with heat. He noticed all that? Anakin leaned against the sink calm and cool as one could be, while I was completely stunned, shocked, speechless. My heart was racing and I thought I might throw up.

Anakin interpreted my perplexed state right.

"Hey, Y/N, what's wrong? No need to feel embarrassed by anything.", he walked over to me and placed his hand on my back, which only made things worse for me.
"I honestly think it's so attractive... and... extremely sexy, I have to admit. But just take your time to think it through and let me know what you figured out when you're ready. I'll wait. And for now I think it's best if we focused on the mission and just kept waiting for Kindon.", he said and then stepped away from me to give me some space.

"Yeah! You've been distracting yourself and me from the mission! We cannot let that happen! So let's just do our job, wait for him and finally put an end to this stupid conversation.", I said and sounded harsher than I had expected. But somehow I felt irritated.

Was it just a mechanism of transforming my intense emotions which Anakin had just evoked into anger, serving as an outlet? Or was I irritated because Anakin had caught me? Because he was aware of my body reacting so intensely to him and I had failed to hide it? Maybe I was angry because I never even wanted to admit to myself what effect he had on me and now that he had openly addressed it, I suddenly felt attacked.
