Back inside our little ship, now all dressed up, and looking and feeling unusually glamorous, we took off again.
As the ship soared higher and higher, we left behind the hustle and bustle of the lower levels and, after a ten minutes' flight, entered the more affluent regions of Coruscant I had only ever been to once. The architecture grew more extravagant, with towering skyscrapers adorned with dazzling lights and eccentric designs that made it seem like the structures were competing for attention. They were creating a visual spectacle that had me glued to the window of the passenger seat.
"Anakin, seriously. Where could you be taking me?", I was wondering out loud as one building, more beautiful than the other, passed us by.
"You will know in about five minutes. Think you can hold out that long?", Anakin turned his head toward me and placed his large hand on my thigh, rubbing it slowly. His touch made my skin tingle and my heart beat a little faster. As if hypnotized by his hand, I watched the intimate action for a few seconds more, swallowed and then forced myself to meet Anakin's gaze again. Of course he was smirking at me and that mischievous glint in his eyes only added fuel to the fire burning inside me.
"Can you hold out that long, Y/N?", he raised his eyebrows as he repeated the question that I had already forgotten about. His hand was way too distracting. Of course Anakin knew about the effect he had on me- and he loved it, because in the next second, his hand started gently kneading my skin, trying to tease me some more.
But I didn't give him the satisfaction of another reaction.
"I'll try my best. But can't you give me a little hint at least?" I placed my hand on top of Anakin's and intertwined our fingers, that way stopping his sweet little distraction. "Please?"
Anakin sighed.
"Alright. There are two reasons that made me choose the place I'm taking you to. For one, it has something to do with our... well, history and my other motivation has something to do with you alone."
I wanted to read Anakin's expression, desperate to find another hint in his eyes, but out of all the times tonight, now he decided to pay attention to the traffic. But as I looked ahead as well, I saw that our ship was approaching a sleek, upscale building. As we descended a minute later, we gracefully touched down on a landing pad that was attached to the side of the skyscraper. The view from this height was breathtaking.
"We're there."Anakin smiled and turned off the engine. "If you didn't guess it already."
Stepping out of the ship, the cool night air embraced us, carrying with it a subtle hint of music and laughter. I looked up at the grand entrance of the building before us. Above it, there was a violet sign, glowing with the words 'The Starlight Lounge' written in curved letters.
Wow, this place sure looked fancy...
After having taken in the words, I turned back around to Anakin who was smiling and looking at me expectantly.
"This is not just a random lounge I chose, you know...", he said, taking my hand in his.
A smile spread across my lips as well. "I already love it."
Together, hand in hand, we walked towards the entrance, upon which the doors slid open to both sides, revealing a grand staircase that led us into the lounge. While walking up the stairs, Anakin held out his arm for me to hold like the gentleman he was. Wearing heels was a first time and I still had to figure out how to walk elegantly in them and, more importantly, how to avoid tripping. As we made it to the top (surprisingly in one piece) and entered the lounge, the atmosphere washed over us like a warm embrace. People from all over the galaxy mingled here and enjoyed themselves.
