I was currently on my way to our quarters where Anakin had wanted to meet me. And when I said he 'wanted' to meet me to discuss the mission we were given, I actually meant that he was 'ordered' to do so by the council and Obiwan. That became even more obvious when I reached the hallway where Anakin and my room were located and I caught a glimpse of Obiwan's robe, disappearing around the corner at the end of the hall. He must have stayed with Anakin to make sure that he would go through with the plan of meeting me.
Couldn't he have stayed a little longer though? Now I was going to be all alone with Anakin. With each step towards his room, my heart beat a little louder. I was incredibly nervous. But then I told myself that it was Anakin who, so it seemed, had lost the argument with the council and who had to submit to them and follow their instructions, so in a way it was me who was a winner in this situation. This thought encouraged me and so I took a deep breath and knocked on his door with a little bit more confidence.
After a few seconds Anakin opened. He looked even more miserable than he did this morning. The dark shadows under his eyes hadn't gone away and his jedi robe wasn't tied properly.
"Come in.", he said with a suprisingly firm voice though.
I looked at him confused.
Come in? I had never been in Anakin's room before and he had always been very strict about no one disturbing his privacy. Above that, I had thought I was just supposed to pick him up from here so that we could go to some other place!"What are you waiting for, Y/N? Me to carry you in?", he asked annoyed. "Not everyone in the hallway needs to hear the mission's details."
I didn't respond to that and instead simply squeezed past him through the doorway into his room, leaving him standing there.
I was a bit surprised at what I found inside. It was all so... clean and tidy? Minimalistic but quite tasteful with its dark accents. I didn't know what I had expected, but somehow not this.
And there was another shocking discovery I just couldn't keep to myself then- though I later regretted it."Why do you have a full sized bed and I don't!?"
"Have you ever looked at yourself and then looked at me?", Anakin huffed as if what he was referring to was obvious. "And eventhough everyone is burning to know about my bed situation and I can understand you taking an interest as well, we should really talk about the important things now. Sit down."
He put one of his hands on my shoulder and pushed me down with it onto a chair by his desk that I was standing close to.I immediately got up from it again. Who did he think he was? I wouldn't let him dominate me this time.
"I prefer to stand, thanks. You have a seat though!", I fake smiled at him.
"Fine, your choice. You can stand while I'll sit comfortably.", he said and then flopped down onto his bed.
"Please. Just give me the details of the mission already."
I was tired of Anakin's mood swings, of him ignoring me, then suddenly messing with me, then hating me again and then playing around while hating me. (And that in a matter of days, today only hours)"First of all, you need to lower your expectations. Calling it a mission is definitely exaggerated."
"Oh don't worry, my expectations are always low when it comes to anything involving you. But go ahead."
"Low expectations means no disappointment, am I right?" Anakin made a face I couldn't read and then continued. "Now, as I was about to tell you, all they want us to do is to receive some kind of valuable and confidential object at the landing platform and to safely transfer it to the archives."
