Persephone was absent the next morning, trifling through every dress she owned as I awoke and wondered where she had got to "It is only a wedding" I grumbled to her in the doorway to her dressing room
"Of my closest and dearest friend" she threw back I hummed I wish anyone else was Hermes may be married today but he still looks at my wife like she made his heart beat for the first time.
"This one?" She asked, holding a dress up "Yes" I said She looked in the mirror "I have never been to a wedding before, besides ours" she chuckled, facing me once more
"And you will look beautiful in anything you wear" I said truthfully

"As is Hephaestus, every time you slip into Ares' arms" I commented back She smiled "That is the trouble with lovers is it not? You cannot keep your eye on them all the time" she laughed
"And that is what concerns me Hades, what Ares does when he is not with me, at the very same time Persephone is not with you" she explained I looked around, before stepping closer to her so she gets the message
"Leave my wife out of your affairs and out of your gossip. I know things too and I choose not to spread them around" I warned her "I heard all about your little shepherd on earth, Anchises is it not?" I asked, as she avoided my eyes
"Yes. So if you want to keep your collection of lovers, then I suggest you stop accusing my wife of taking one. Or I will strike your mortal shepherd down and add him to the field of lost loves" I threatened, walking away from her
