CHAPTER 36

CAYENNE

I didn't cry until I reach the house. I run to my room and cry myself under the shower. Kahit ako hindi ko gustong marinig ang iyak ko. Abraham doesn't deserve even a single tear from me.

Nang malaman ko ang totoo hindi ko iniyakan. Tinatagan ko ang loob ko sa pagpapaintindi at pagpapaliwanag kay Stefano. But talking to him— confronting him makes me feel so weak.

Gusto ko siyang parusahan. Ipakulong. But I won't do it. I will not give him the chance to repent.

Wala akong sinayang na oras, sinamantala ko na habang nandoon si Stefano kina Kuya Adi— he's already staying with Milan, that's the only thing that makes me feel relieved— I ask for Ralph's help, kumuha ako ng restraining order for Abraham. He made me suffer for seven years, ipagkakait ko rin sa kanya si Stefano.

"Adiel has the footage of what happened. Kung gusto mong kasuhan—

"No." I immediately rejected Ralph's idea. Si Kuya Adi ay ganoon din naman ang pinipilit sa akin but I want Abraham to suffer with his conscience not with anything else.

"He will bother you—

"He won't."

He sigh before opening the car for me. Ralph knows better than pushing something to me. This is the reason why even though I wasn't sure if I can love him I am still letting him close to me. I deserve a man like him, someone who considers me first.

Stefano welcome me running when we come pick him up at Milan's condo. Nasa trabaho si Kuya Adi kaya sila lang tatlo nina Cairo ang nasa condo.

"Why's he's with you? I don't like him," Stefano whisper to me after he  kiss him on the cheeks.

"Don't be rude, Stefano. He's friends with daddy Adi."

Ngumuso siya sabay silip kay Ralph na nakangiti lang at inaantay kung lalapit ba sa kanya si Stefano. It's been weeks since I introduce them with each other and there's no progress with how cold my son is with Ralph.

"Cairo have his real daddy why can't I? So unfair," sambit niya sabay takbo papunta kay Milan.

Napabuntong hinga ako sabay lingon kay Ralph. He's doing effort to be close with Stefano pero ayaw sa kanya ng bata— he wants Abraham since he knew about everything. 

"I'm sorry."

"Okay lang. He will warm up on me eventually."

Nakipaglaro si Ralph kay Cairo at Stefano sa sala habang kami ni Milan nasa kusina at nagluluto ng hapunan. It was easy for us to back where we ended— wala naman kasi talaga akong ginawa na mali, hindi ko inahas si Kuya Adi. Everything was a big misunderstanding.

"Nag-usap na kayo ni Kuya Abraham?"

I move beside her getting all the sliced veggies she prepared. "Wala na kaming dapat pag-usapan. Hindi ko naman siya kailangan."

"You don't want to sue him for rape, sue him for child abuse or whatever. We can ask Adi or Ralph for legal advice."

"I don't want to put Stefano in the situation." Nilagay ko na sa kawali lahat ng gulay at hinalo. Nakakamiss din kasama at kausap si Milan. There are things she's the only one who can understand me. "Narinig mo naman paano magsalita ang anak ko, hinahanap na si Abraham."
