Jamie and i got up early for once so we went out and got breakfast, "i need a figure out when i should leave" Jamie groans "no thena let's just enjoy breakfast and not talk about you leaving right now, I hated the idea more than him I didn't want to go back to doing absolutely nothing other than laying in bed and staring at a wall

they go back to the apartment and start watching dance moms "Holly and Christi, your favorite dance moms go" he hums as he thinks "You know I hate to agree with you but Holly and Christi are the best" She gets up starts dancing around then yells "YES THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST THANK YOU" he laughs as he watches her get so excited then he puts his arms around her waist and before she can react to what he just did he smacked he into the couch they get into yet another tickling fight till they heard a knock at the door,they just look at each other Jamie shrugs because neither of them were expecting anyone to come over.

thena's pov

I get up and open up the door to see my dad standing in the doorway
"why are you here and what do you want" he laughs like i'm joking "i just want to talk"  Jamie cuts in the conversation " you want me to leave" he says as he whispers in my ear I grab his arm "no please don't" I say knowing i will need him here so he stays behind me the whole time as he holds my hand
"first how did you know was here and this is my second time saying this why are you here"
he smiles that annoying fake smile "well your cousin saw on instagram and she saw that you were in new york so i came here to talk your birthday is coming up and just want to catch up on life in general" I sigh "10 minutes that's it" I let him in and all three of us stand in the kitchen as there is a lot of awkward silence, "what do you want to say just spit it out" i knew by the look on his face he had a lot to say "have you found god yet or are you still a queer". wow okay we're going there
"yup nothing changed" he makes some weird noise of disgust "okay so that's why you're here to see if i'm still gay"
he doesn't say anything
"Why do you hate me so much" my voice cracks no i won't cry not this time  "huh?" he sounds stupid
"don't huh? me you're my dad you're supposed to love me"
"I-i do" he says with hesitation
"no you did before i came out, shit i didn't even get to come out it was forced out of me by my own family, you gave me no affection after i came out you acted as if i was dead to you, a father doesn't do that." i spit out

my jaw clenched as i heard him call me by my nickname usually I cry and let him talk to me like this but i'm completely over hearing what he has to say it's my turn to speak now.

"no let me speak I've done so much just to make you happy i've sat around took every hateful thing you and the family had to say and look years later you still don't Even fucking love me you never learned to accept me for who I a-" he stops me by huffing then continues on to say "you don't know who you are" I walk over to him "and what like you do, for years you have drained me and made me hate you but you know what I learned I was never the problem here it was always you, you are so immature I was more mature than you at the age 9 then you are now at 47 and i'm done taking this shit from you. I sit here and listen to you talk about how bad of a person I am all because of who i love that's not fucking fair so don't you tell me it's hard having a queer daughter how do you think it is being the queer daughter who everyone doesn't like. well let me tell you how it feels, it feels like shit everyone in the family hating me wishing I was dead, you'll never know how it feels but I wish you could feel it then maybe you'd understand this type of pain. you may be my father but you will never be my dad i want you to leave now i don't want you anywhere near me or any of my family and with your new kids maybe think about loving them more than you did with me."

all I wanted was a father who wasn't absentminded and who didn't care my whole life then comes in and tries to change everything in it.
when I was 15 my family figured out that i was dating this girl and it got spread like a virus my dad told me all the time when i was at his house that that's not who i am and he won't allow that in his home so my dad forced me to be straight for years he tried warping my mind so i could be straight, none of it wasn't fair i know that now.

I slam the door Jamie runs over to me as I slide down the wall and crumble in his arms
he keeps whispering to me that it will be okay he gets me up off the floor and takes me to bed he holds me as I cry until I fall asleep,
no love like christian dad love am i right.
