"shit i just realized the rest of my stuff is back at my moms house i'm gonna have to go back" she dreads going back to that place she can't stand even talking about it and he knew that "you want me to go with you so you don't have to go alone" The truth is she didn't want to go at all, she just wanted to leave that whole town behind and not have to worry about it ever again "you don't have to but if you would that would be great i would only be there for a couple days just to get my stuff then sign off on the house so someone else can buy it" he was shocked at what she was saying "yeah I want to go I haven't been there in a while are you sure you don't want to slow the process down I mean your moving pretty fast" she just wanted to sell the house she grew up in and it seems like she didn't even care he knew she wasn't actually processing anything that was happening see Athena had a tendency to never fully process things in her head she always thought it was fake or things were gonna go back to how they were before, she just wanted it to be normal how was she supposed to go on without her mom the only parent who loved her and support her with every bone in her body how was she supposed to process that fact that she won't ever see her mom again she won't ever do their ice cream dates or late night shopping together she won't be there to pick up the phone whenever she needs a pep talk, she won't walk into her house and see her mom sitting there on the couch watching greys anatomy now Athena has a void she can't fix. "look Jamie it's fine i'm fine okay so i'm going to work on getting the tickets "the sooner the better you know" he knew she wasn't okay i mean she hasn't been ever since her mom died but it's bringing up stuff she just wanted to forget now she had to face her problems they both froze when they heard a phone ringing "that's my managers ringtone we have to find my phone" the frantically search for her phone till they find it between the couch cushions "hey daisy sorry i couldn't find my phone what's up" jamie sits there waiting to figure out why she called she gets up and starts jumping "oh my god no fucking way don't play with me like this are you being for real" after a lot of yelling and jumping she finally gets off the phone "what happened i'm guessing it's good" he asks " i'm going on tour in like a month i'm opening up for phoebe bridgers" his jaw drops he runs up to her picks her up and spins her around till them fall " i'm so bloody happy for you thena you deserve this" they lay on the ground and talk about how exciting this is "Years ago I never would've thought I would be putting out music and going on tour" she continues to laugh "I always believed that you would be successful and make it big" She turns over to look at him "Thanks for always believing in me and always being there for me I owe you a lot because if you didn't push me to do things I definitely wouldn't be where I am now" he turns over to see her face "I'm always here for you any time or place I'll be there" he would do anything for her he loved her so much maybe even in a way he shouldn't love his best friend but he will continue to ignore that feeling, they lay there he plays with her hair and she just plays with his rings as they listen to phoebe bridgers
