A/N: Idk just some angst, TW for reader dying

"I always knew I'd love you till the day I die" you smiled as he held you in his arms.

This couldn't' be happening. It was supposed to be him. He was supposed to go first, not you. He wasn't supposed to be left behind again.

Dabi was just sitting on the ground with you in his arms, surrounded by flames. You reached your hand up to caress his cheek, trying to comfort him.

"It's okay, it doesn't hurt" you said weakly as the blood dripped from the corner of your mouth and you held your hand on his cheek.

You could feel the blood dripping from the corner of his eye onto your hand and the droplets falling on your cheek from there.

"It wasn't supposed to be you" he said, gritting his teeth.

You'd never seen Dabi cry before. You knew he wasn't the most sentimental person in the first place, but you had to admit, he never failed to surprise you. You'd asked him about it and he told you he would just bleed if he cried, and that it was quite a gruesome sight. You didn't think so though, he was as handsome as ever, and you were glad he was going to be the last thing you saw. There couldn't be a better way to go, held by someone you loved. You wouldn't have had it any other way when it was your time.

You felt your eyelids getting heavier and heavier, before you couldn't keep your eyes open anymore. The darkness was calling you in deeper, and you were too weak to resist. You didn't want to leave him, you just wanted more time.

Dabi felt your hand fall from his cheek and as it did, the flames erupted around him, roaring so loud they covered his howls of rage and sorrow.

Dabi wasn't himself after that, or maybe he just grew to be more himself, no one really knew for sure. He became more sadistic and ruthless, even more hellbent on his revenge, for you and for himself. The League of course did all they could to fuel his bloodthirsty rampage, encouraging him and aiming him at anyone they wanted to get rid off, like a loaded gun.

He also grew more reckless, not to the point of ever actually getting himself hurt at least not more than usual, but to the point he did make some stupid decisions. Why would he care anymore anyway? There was no one and nothing for him to go back to, all he had left was his vengeance against his father. You were gone, and you were never coming back. He had fallen deeper into the abyss than ever before and he wasn't coming back up, ever. You weren't there to pull him back anymore, so how could he?

Dabi was going to burn it all down, the whole damn world, all for you.
