Y/n joined me and AJ on our way out to the party. AJ ran to Y/n and hugged his leg. "Woah, buddy." He said, smiling.
"I love you, Y/n." AJ said. Y/n got down to AJ's level. "I love you right back, AJ." He said and hugged him.
"Ready to go to this party?" I asked him.
"You bet." He gave me a smile.

Y/n's POV...
We went to the music room. Ruby, Violet, Louis, and Tenn were there. "We still need to figure out lighting, music, and...something to write on that banner." Ruby told us. I looked at the lights with Clem. "Lets go violet." I said, smiling. Violet looked over at us. "You know? Purple light? Purple? Violet?" I said smiling. Vi shook her head and smiled. "Funny choice." Violet said.
"Is the banner meant to be a party theme?" Clem asked.
"Its meant to be more motivational." Ruby said.
"AJ, wanna pick something?" Clem asked him.
"Really?" Ruby asked.
"I'm promise not to swear all over it." He said.
"Okay. We'll have Tenn break out his paintbrush to write it." Ruby said.
"Okay. You guys got any classical?" Clem asked for the music.
"You bet."
"Ah, a woman after my own heart." Louis smiled. He wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her.
"Oh yeah, Willy was asking for you. He's up in Marlon's office." Violet told us.
"Alright. We'll go check on him." Clem said.

Me and Clem went up to the office and saw Willy. "I found a bunch of books about boats. There is some awesome stuff about fires at sea and explosions and stuff." He started rambling on.
"What are you talking about?" Clem asked.
"I have an idea about how to stop those assholes coming back." He said.
"You wanna blow up the boat?" I asked.
"Yeah!"
"Well, Mitch would approve." I said. We heard Ruby call us down. "And guys? I'm sorry for how i treated Tenn. I didn't mean to get so angry. I know its not his fault." He said to us.
"Thats nice, Willy. But don't tell us. Tell Tenn." Clem told Willy. The three of us went down.

Me and Y/n went in the music room to see the banner saying, "SURPRISE, DUMMIES", the room was a bright purple color, and we saw AJ dancing to the classical music. It was pretty funny. Louis and Violet were smiling. We don't always see them smiling at each other. "AJ's got the moves." Louis said.
"Yeah, more than I got." Violet said, keeping her smile.
"I'm sure you're a great dancer." I said to her. Tenn and Willy started working on the bomb. "I was thinking, maybe we should name it?" Willy asked.
"Yeah, good idea." Clem said.
"How about Mitch's Masterpiece?" I suggested. Willy loved it and wrote it on the side of the bomb. Ruby came out with a case of files. "These explain why we all got sent to this school in the first place." Ruby told us. Everyone sat down. I sat next to AJ and Violet, while Clem sat the opposite of AJ and next to Louis. Ruby pulled out a file and started reading it. "While otherwise a remarkable student, blank continues to be plagued by fits if anger, uncontrollable cursing, and repeated physical altercations with the senior faculty..." Ruby read.
"Uhh, that would be you, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, i was gonna say thats you, Ruby." Clem said.
"Guilty as charged." Ruby said.
"Our sweet Ruby here was kind of a nightmare when she first showed up." Louis said.
"I can totally see it." Clem said, giving a smirk. "The first time i met Ruby she was all, 'That little motherfucker...!'" Clem gave a southern accent at the end to imitate Ruby's voice.
"You guys wanna know why I got sent here?" Willy asked with a suspiciously wide smile on his face.
"Willy, please." Violet tried stopping him, but Willy shot it out. "Chronic masturbation." He said. My jaw dropped when he said that. "Willy, I speak for all of us when I say nobody has ever, ever wanted to know that." Louis said.
"Whats that?" AJ asked. I immediately covered his ears, worried Willy was gonna say it. "Don't you dare." Clem told Willy, pointing a finger at him.
"So uhh, why don't we change the music?" Ruby asked.
"Sure. We've heard enough of this. Throw some country on." Clem said.
"Hell yeah!" Ruby and Willy exclaimed. Willy stopped the classical and put on some country. Ruby started searching the files. "Didn't realize how many of us we lost." Ruby said.
"Remember that Justin guy?" Willy asked.
"And Therissa. And Jasper. The girl with colored braces. And Joey...Maddie, Lamar." Tenn went on about the kids that they lost.
"Erin. She was the one with the braces." Louis said.
"Man. Now i feel bad. I used to make fun of her braces." Violet said. "Why did I do that?"
"Alex. Dewey. Trey. Stephanie. How many of us died?" Willy said.
"34." Ruby confirmed.
"Shit...we didn't mean for your game to get depressing." I said. She pulled two files out. "Whose are they?" Clem asked.
"Violet's and Louis'." Ruby said.
"We, uh, we could tell you our stories. What got us sent here." Louis said. Violet looked at Louis. "Uhh, yeah, we could." She said.
"I was hoping you would." Clem said. Louis sat up a little straighter than he was before. "So, my parents were stupid rich. Anything I wanted, they'd give it to me. Anything but singing lessons. God, i begged my Dad, told him I wanted to he a real musician. But all he said was, 'you get to be happy or you get to be rich. Can't be both'. So i broke into his credit cards and bought a lot of stuff, and made up a mistress. We were so rich, my dad didn't even notice. But i made sure every one of the receipts was sent to my mom. My parents argued and my dad denied everything. I cried in the corner to make it look more real. When their divorce was finalized, i told them everything I pulled. I said, 'you get to be happy or you get to be rich. Can't be both'. I was sent here the week after." Louis told us his entire story. "You know... those two would have been happily married forever. But then I had to go be a vindictive fuckhead."
"I can tell you regret it." Clem said. She leaned over to Louis.
"Hypocrite. He said he'd buy you anything, then he doesn't." I said. I looked over. "What about you, Vi? What, uh, why did you get sent here?" I asked her.
"Well, its not any better than Louis' story." She warned. "I spent a lot of time at my grandma's house growing up, what with my dad being a drunk and my mom having three jobs. After grandpa died, grandma just...shut down. She spent all day and night in her rocking chair. I'd sit at her feet as we both watched TV. Mostly cartoons I liked since she never seemed to care. I would hear her crying sometimes, but i'd just feel really weird and turn up the volume. Anyway, one day she left the den and came back with another chair and a .22 rifle. She set the rifle barrel to her chest and used a long wooden backscratcher-- the one with the hand-- and used it to push the trigger in. My mom came to get me and I never moved. She asked why i never called her, or the police, or an ambulance. I shrugged and told her it wasn't like grandma was going anywhere... and i just wanted to finish the cartoons. She shipped me here the next day." Violet told us her story. I reached over and grabbed her hand and hugged her. I could feel her body shaking a little, and the shaking went down as I hugged her.
"Hey, i got an idea." Tenn said. "Remember when Minnie would sing, 'Don't be Afraid' when we were all scared? Maybe Violet could sing it and Louis could play it." He suggested.
"It sounds like a good idea to me. Your voice is...its really pretty." I said.
"Okay." The two said. Louis got up and sat at the piano. Violet stood up next to him. Louis started playing and Violet joined in immediately.

"Never mind the darkness.

Never mind the storm.

Never mind the blood red moon.

The night will be over soon.

The night will be over soon."

I listened to Violet sing the lyrics. The moment she started, I felt my heart skip a beat. Clementine was watching Louis play the piano.

"Brush away the sorrow.

Brush away the tears.

Sing away your heavy heart.

The night will be over soon.

The night will be over soon."

Clem looked at me. I scooted to my sister and AJ and wrapped an arm around them. Willy sat next to Tenn and smiled, certainly easing Tenn of any stress he may have had thanks to the previous raider attack

"For every night goes quiet.

And every moon goes cold.

Beyond the dark comes something new.

The sun will be rising soon.

The sun will be rising soon.

The sun will be rising soon."

I sat there with Clem and AJ and Louis and Violet finished the song. We all clapped for them. AJ blew out the candle. This is when I knew it was set in stone.
