The picture is what the ring looks like. I absolutely love it! it was specially made due to Katsuki's explosion quirk.

Chapter 12

the day Izuku woke up

Katsuki's POV:

Katsuki sat on the edge of the abandoned building, his intense crimson eyes scanning the city below. For months, he and his team had been scouring the city, hunting down possible hideouts for the new league. Those damn villains had evolved and regrouped, causing more trouble than ever before. Their cause had been revitalized under a new leader. They were like stubborn fucking cockroaches that just wouldn't die, and Katsuki was determined to stomp them out for good.

A year or so after the war, society had gradually returned to its old ways, with some people still harboring a deep-seated resentment towards heroes. Many of them had joined the league, seeking to reshape society according to their warped beliefs. The League soon after had become so much larger and turned into a syndicate for organized crime.

Katsuki's final year at UA had been a blur, other than the usual group and some other extras from Class 1A, he never sought to make friends. Izuku's comma left a void that Katsuki couldn't ignore. He had grown colder, more distant, shutting out the world that couldn't understand his burning desire for greatness. The only people he bothered to acknowledge were his trusted comrades from Class 1-A. He saw no reason to waste his time on other people who couldn't contribute to his ultimate goal.

After graduating from UA, Katsuki wasted no time establishing himself as one of the top heroes in Best Jeanist's agency. His explosive power and relentless determination had quickly garnered attention, propelling him up the ranks of popularity. A year ago, he had taken the plunge and opened his own agency, Now, he stood at number three in the hero popularity poll, inching closer to the top spot he declared his. On the surface, his life seemed to be on track, everyone around him cheering him on as he was climbing his way to the top like he had declared.

And yet deep down, he couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness. It was as if a piece of him was still missing, leaving behind an aching void.

Katsuki sat on the edge of the building, his lunchbox tightly clenched in his hand. He let out a frustrated sigh, his gaze sweeping over the rooftops as if searching for answers. The silver ring adorning his finger glinted in the sunlight, the emerald stone sparkling brightly.

With his new agency, Katsuki had begun donating money to the university, assisting All Might in covering the costs. Ironically, it was Aizawa who had taken guardianship of Izuku after his transfer to the hospital, shielding him from the public eye. Over the years, Katsuki had visited Izuku once a week, bringing Japanese camellia flowers to swap out of the vase that still sat on the Kotatsu.

It was always heartbreaking to see how slowly, over the years, many of the people who visited him so often faded away, leaving only a handful of true friends who remembered Izuku's existence. It was like they moved on, knowing Izuku was never going to wake up.

Sure, they left gifts and pictures of all of them together when his stay first started at the university, but as time dragged on, Katsuki noted that the visitor log was only a but a hand full of people.

How long has it been now—3 and a half years?

The incessant buzzing of his phone shattered the silence, tearing him away from his thoughts and food. Irritation flashed across his face as he ignored the call, refusing to let anything interrupt his break time. Katsuki started eating again but the damn thing kept ringing. Katsuki gritted his teeth, yanking the phone out of his pocket and glaring at the screen.
