Chapter 49

With the plan set in motion, Katsuki's impatience grew like an inferno within him as they anxiously awaited the woman's return with Kirishima and Tokoyami. Each passing minute felt like an eternity, the room steeped in an intense mix of anticipation and tension. His fingers twitched restlessly at his sides as he clenched and unclenched his fists.

When the door finally swung open, revealing the woman and the two heroes, relief washed over Katsuki. Kirishima, his posture cautious but hopeful steps as he entered and relaxed slightly when he saw the others, stepped forward, his voice filled with hope. "Do we finally have a way in?" he asked, his voice laced with anticipation. "Can we save Midoriya?"

Shinsou, his mind focused on strategy, nodded with a hint of confidence. "Yes, we do," he affirmed, a self-assured smile dancing upon his lips. "And this woman here is going to lead the way."

His gaze then settled firmly on the woman, a stern note in his voice as he added a warning. "Lead us to the entrance of the League's hideout, and remember, any attempts to deceive or betray us will not end well for you."

She offered a hollow nod, her movements devoid of emotion. Following her lead, they ventured through the dimly lit hallway, stopping at the very spot she had hesitated earlier. Her hand pressed against a subtle indentation in the wall, and with a soft mechanical hum, a hidden door slid open, revealing a boiler room beyond.

The transition from the corridor to the boiler room was abrupt. The place was a maze of pipes that snaked along the walls, hissing with the release of steam, and the metallic scent of oil weighed heavily in the air.

Katsuki's sharp gaze scanned every corner of the room, his senses attuned to the smallest of details. Beside him, Shoto stood like a sentinel, his heterochromatic eyes scanning for threats, ready to unleash his icy quirk at the slightest sign of danger. Kirishima and Tokoyami, their resolve unwavering, followed closely, their determination burning fiercely. They knew the risks they were taking, but their loyalty to their friend drove them forward.

Shinsou's commanding presence maintained control over the woman, directing her with a firm tone as they reached the boiler room. "Continue leading us to the entrance of the League's hideout. No detours, no tricks," he ordered.

Her response was silent, her steps hesitant but driven by Shinsou's influence. She guided them through a concealed door at the far end of the boiler room revealing yet another hidden passage, this one descending further into the abyss of the hideout's depths. As they ventured deeper, the air grew colder, and the distant echoes of murmurs and footsteps whispered through the corridors.

With the group closely tailing the woman, Tokoyami harnessed Dark Shadow's power, enveloping them in a shroud of inky darkness. It created the illusion that the woman was merely guiding a single new recruit through the hidden passages of the villainous lair. Katsuki couldn't help but calculate the distance they'd trekked. These winding mazes had to lead under those damn warehouses across the street, he concluded. The thought that Izuku had been just a stone's throw away all those weeks ago filled him with regret and frustration

The hideout was a labyrinth of corridors and rooms, teeming with villains who went about their nefarious activities. Suspicious glances were cast their way as they moved through the shadowy recesses, but Tokoyami's Dark Shadow growled menacingly in response, warding off any potential confrontations.

Katsuki, Shoto, Kirishima, and Tokoyami moved like phantoms, their senses heightened, ready to react to any sudden ambush as they navigated the treacherous maze. Swift and silent, they followed the woman's lead, their alertness unwavering.
