Chapter 24

The room fell dead silent, and Katsuki stood there, alone, staring at his hands as frustration and worry gnawed at him. It had been so long since he had gone without Izuku, and his absence weight heavy on his chest, and he hated every second of it.

His mind raced with thoughts, and he found himself pacing back and forth, unable to keep still.  He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong, that Izuku was in danger, and the fact that he couldn't do a damn thing about it made him furious.

Fists clenched, knuckles white, Katsuki's anger and frustration from earlier surged like a wildfire within him. The explosion danced in his palms, and without thinking, he let out a roar of frustration, punching the wall with all his strength. The impact left a hole in the drywall, and pain shot through his hand as he felt his knuckles split open, but he ignored it, gritting his teeth in frustration.

He sank to the ground, breathing heavily, his head in his hands. The reality of the situation was finally setting in, and Katsuki felt like he was starting to drown. He tried to calm himself down, but the anxiety wouldn't let up.

He could feel that same shadow from earlier slithering around him; That damn PTSD was clawing at him, mocking his weaknesses. It was a dark presence that had always lingered in the back of his mind, and Katsuki had spent years fighting to keep it at bay.

Leave me alone dammit.

The PTSD seemed to have more or less dissipated for a while. But now, with Izuku gone and his emotions running rampant, the shadow was getting stronger. The echoes of Izuku's ragged breaths and the wreckage around him reverberated within the depths of that darkness. Katsuki knew that he needed to pull himself together and had to ignore it before it pulled him in.

"Stop being a fucking pussy, dammit!" he growled at himself, digging his nails into his arms.

After a few moments, Katsuki sighed heavily, feeling the adrenaline from his outburst slowly subsiding. The grip of the shadow began to loosen, its presence receding. Katsuki let out a sigh of relief, grateful to feel a semblance of normalcy returning.

Finally managing to stand, Katsuki's eyes narrowed as he glanced at the damage he'd caused. He sighed heavily, realizing he had to fix it before Aizawa noticed. Spotting a roll of duct tape, he tore off strips, quickly patching up the hole. It looked like crap, but it was better than nothing.

Exhausted but still restless, Katsuki decided to channel his energy into something more productive. He knew he needed to release the pent-up frustration. Changing into his workout clothes, he stormed into the home gym, ready to unleash all the negative energy.

As he pushed himself through an intense workout, Katsuki's thoughts inevitably turned to Izuku. How much he fucking missed him. He hoped that he was safe and that he would be back soon.

After an hour of intense exercise, Katsuki finally felt like he had exhausted all the negative energy he had been carrying around. He collapsed onto the weight bench, drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. He closed his eyes, taking deep breaths to calm himself down.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he heard his phone ring. Katsuki sat up quickly, wiping the sweat from his forehead as he reached for his phone. He glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Aizawa.

"Yeah, what?" he said, trying to sound as casual as possible.

"Bakugo, I'm sending a car to pick you up to bring you to the cafe; we need to talk," Aizawa said.
