Chapter 28

Katsuki's thumb hovered over the "send" button, hesitating for a brief moment before finally pressing down. The familiar sound of the message being sent echoed through the silence of his room.

The instant Katsuki sent the text message to the old class group chat, he regretted it.

The group chat had mostly been dormant, with occasional meet-ups for dinner to catch up. Katsuki had always avoided responding, showing little interest in revisiting his past.

Katsuki: Hey, losers. Deku wants to reconnect or whatever, Dinner at my place this weekend.
Be there.

The response was immediate, and the group chat suddenly came alive with a flurry of messages.

Mina: OMG, I can't believe it! I'm so excited!

Iida: That's highly unexpected! I never thought I'd see the day.

Momo: Bakugo, are you feeling alright? This is quite a surprise!

Kirishima: Dude, you better not be messing with us. I've been waiting for this moment!

Tsuyu: Kero, kero! I can't believe it! Bakugo is actually inviting us over?

Kirishima: This is gonna be awesome! Thanks for inviting us, bakubro!

Katsuki: Don't get too damn excited. There are conditions.

Uraraka:  Wait, is this for real? Bakugo inviting us to his house? Awww I can't wait to see Izuku!

Uraraka: Conditions? What kind of conditions?

Katsuki: It's going to be a small gathering of people I approve of. And no, you can't bring your damn plus ones.

Denki: Aw, man. I was gonna bring my girlfriend.

Katsuki: Tough luck, Pikachu.

As the messages poured in, Katsuki's irritation grew. He was not used to so many people bombarding him with messages all at once.

Katsuki: Enough with the damn messages already! I said it's a small gathering!

Kirishima: Calm down, Bakubro. We're just excited.

Katsuki: EXCITED MY ASS. Just don't make me regret inviting you all.

Shoto: Well, it's about time you decided to socialize, Bakugo. Maybe you'll learn some manners from us.

Katsuki's eyes narrowed at Shoto's comment, his temper flaring up instantly.

Katsuki: Shut your icy trap, Half-and-Half! I'm doing this for Deku, not for you losers. If you have a problem with it, stay the hell away.

Katsuki threw his phone on the bench, feeling annoyed by the whole situation. He wondered what he had gotten himself into, inviting his old classmates over to his house; it was bound to give him a migraine... or maybe even a stroke.
