Chapter 40

Katsuki gritted his teeth as he prepared to face the monstrous black Nomu. If that thing gave All Might a hard time he knew that he was outmatched, but he refused to back down. The Nomu barreled at him with such speed he barely was able to register fast enough to dodge it.

Katsuki narrowly dodged the Nomu's first attack, but he could feel the shockwave from its powerful punch as it missed him by inches. He quickly retaliated with a blast of explosive energy from his hands, but the Nomu merely shrugged it off as if it was nothing. Katsuki's heart sank as he realized just how powerful this creature was.

His adrenaline raced as he tried to keep up with the Nomu's movements. Its attacks were relentless and he struggled to keep his distance. He let out a blast of explosive energy, hoping to slow it down, but it barely seemed to phase the beast. It was like fighting a brick wall.

Katsuki knew he needed to come up with a different strategy. He couldn't beat the Nomu head-on, but he might be able to outsmart it. He looked around for any objects that he could use to his advantage.

He spotted a nearby car and quickly made his way over to it, the Nomu hot on his tail. With a quick blast of his explosive energy, he sent the car flying towards the Nomu. The beast easily caught the car and tossed it aside, but it gave Katsuki enough time to plan his next move.

Katsuki quickly dashed towards the Nomu, his hands crackling with explosive energy. He feinted a punch, causing the Nomu to dodge to the side. As it did, Katsuki let out a blast of explosive energy, hitting the Nomu from behind. The creature stumbled forward, but quickly regained its footing.

Katsuki knew he had to keep the pressure on. He dashed towards it again, this time aiming for its legs. He let out a series of explosive blasts, causing the Nomu to lose its balance. Katsuki took advantage of the situation and delivered a powerful uppercut to the creature's chin. The Nomu stumbled backward, but quickly regained its footing once again.

He knew he couldn't keep this up forever. The Nomu was too strong, and he was expending more and more energy and with his injuries, he was slowing down. He needed a way to prolong the fight just enough time for backup to arrive. He looked around, hoping to find some inspiration when a hero came barreling at the Nomu with an ice quirk.

"Stop you idiot!" Katsuki yelled but it was too late, The Nomu shattered through the wall of ice before it grabbed the surprised hero. In a matter of seconds, it began to tear the hero apart. It ripped limbs from joints and the scream that pierced the air made Katsuki's blood run cold.

Katsuki bared his teeth in frustration and rage as he tried to save the hero but it was too late as he watched him being killed by the monstrous Nomu. He felt a wave of guilt wash over him - if only he had been able to defeat the Nomu sooner, the hero might have still been alive. But he knew he couldn't dwell on that now. He had to focus on the task at hand.

The Nomu turned its attention back to Katsuki, it slowly cocked its head to the side as it dropped the corpse. The blood dripped off its face as it stared Katsuki down, and he knew he had to act fast. He let out another blast of explosive energy, but it barely even fazed the creature. He tried to dodge its counterattacks, but it was moving way too fast. It was like trying to dodge a freight train.
