Chapter 55
To say trying to stay with Izuku once they got to the hospital was next to impossible.
The hospital scene was pure chaos, with medical staff hustling and bustling to tend to Izuku and Katsuki's injuries. The staff tried to usher them into different areas, but Katsuki adamantly refused to leave Izuku's side. There was no way he'd budge an inch from Izuku's side. He made that crystal fucking clear as he held onto Izuku's stretcher like his life depended on it.
Separation was not an option.
"No way in hell I'm leaving," Katsuki snarled, his voice dripping with an intense, almost dangerous edge. He clamped onto the stretcher Izuku was lying on like it was his lifeline, fingers digging into the fabric as if it were his last connection to sanity. "If that damn nerd wakes up and I'm not here, he's gonna go berserk and tear this whole damn place apart."
The medical staff shared wary glances, realizing this explosive hero wasn't going down without a fight. They didn't want to challenge the top hero's authority, but protocol was protocol. The head nurse, a stern veteran with a take-no-nonsense attitude, stepped forward, her gaze unwavering yet compassionate.
"We understand your concern, Dynamight," she declared, commanding attention. "But we must ensure that both of you receive the necessary medical attention. We cannot risk any complications or further injuries."
Katsuki's grip on the stretcher became a vice, his knuckles losing their color. He stared down the head nurse, defiance radiating from him. He was not about to compromise here.
"Then treat us together, dammit," he demanded, his voice slicing through the air resonating with an intensity that brooked no argument. "I won't leave his side, and you're not separating us. Like I fucking said, if he wakes up and I'm not here, he is going to fucking destroy this damn hospital."
The head nurse scrutinized Katsuki's expression, her doubts battling with his urgency. She'd seen countless injured heroes and knew the consequences of neglecting medical procedures, but there was something about the desperation in Katsuki's eyes that was different, making her hesitate.
"Once more, I understand your concerns, Dynamight," the head nurse said, her tone softened by empathy. "But we have the facilities and expertise here to provide the best care for both of you. There is the other matter of you not family."
Oh, this bitch.
Katsuki's fiery gaze remained locked onto the nurse's, his emotions simmering on the edge. He spoke with a low, intense voice.
"You don't get it," he began, his words laced with pain and anxiety. "Deku... he's been through hell. Two goddamn months of torture that wrecked him physically and mentally. He's been stripped down to his core, and he will attack anyone without mercy. He needs me here and I won't fucking lose him again. I will stay by because I the only family he as left."
The head nurse wavered, caught between strict protocols and the urgency in Katsuki's plea. An intense silence enveloped the room as she weighed the risks and consequences, and his impatience got the better of him.
"Fuck this shit, I'm taking him to another damn hospital!" Katsuki erupted. He moved to lift Izuku, ignoring the agony flaring from his own injuries. But the head nurse intervened swiftly, realizing she couldn't let them leave without proper medical care.
"Wait!" the head nurse called out; her voice filled with genuine concern. She glanced at Katsuki's exhausted, pained expression, understanding the toll the ordeal had taken on him. After a moment of contemplation, she made a crucial decision.
