Chapter 59

The second the word leaves Izuku's mouth, the woman with ever-changing hair throws her hands out, conjuring what looks like a freaking mirror dimension. Translucent walls shoot up, forming an enclosure that seems hell-bent on trapping everyone inside. Izuku shoves Katsuki back, a futile attempt to push him out before the cage closes in. But Katsuki's reality spins out of control as the mirrors swallow him whole. Disorienting doesn't even cover it; he's transported from the first mirror to another, and he slams right back into Izuku.

Kunai and throwing stars materialize through the mirrors, Knives redirecting them with the precision of a goddamn surgeon. Katsuki's instincts kick in, narrowly dodging the deadly projectiles. The rush of air from the passing blades brush close enough to shave the hair off his skin, but just as he thinks he's dodged the threat, he finds himself tumbling through yet another mirror.

The world shifts around him, and Katsuki feels a wave of nausea. Before he can regain his composure, he materializes right in front of Gloomgazer. The freak's glowing eyes lock onto his, and he tries to shut his eyes, but it's too damn late. The sensation as simple as flicking a Tv off, Darkness blinds him, leaving him in a void of nothingness. Panic pours through him as he realizes he's now blind, unable to see the unfolding chaos—they were caught in a confined space with the League of Villains and Katsuki couldn't see a damn thing.

He tries to blast himself backwards out of this mess with his quirk, explosions booming around him, away from the imminent danger. But instead of safety, he's crashing through another damn mirror. Katsuki grunted, teeth clacking as he collided with the cold, hard floor, disoriented and struggling to make sense of the chaotic situation. Fuck that hurt.

Katsuki tries to scramble backwards when he feels the sudden resistance of something grabbing onto him. Panic set in and he blasts around him when he realized it was Black Whip, Izuku's quirk. It yanks him hard nearly giving him whiplash, and every hair on his body stands on end as he's pulled in a direction he can't even see. An explosion and laughter echoes behind him mere moments later telling him he was seconds from death.

"Damn, I missed," some idiot complains. Vortex.

Black Whip reacted once more, pulling Katsuki in a different direction, hurtling through the darkness until he crashes into Izuku's arms. The noise of the fight is deafening, and Katsuki can't make heads or tails of what the hell is going on. Fear digs its claws into him; at this rate, he's gonna get them both killed. He's a fucking liability.

"Damn it, Deku!" he growls, frustration and urgency leaking from his voice. "We need to get the fuck out of this place! I can't see a damn thing!"

Izuku lurched to the side nearly causing Katsuki to fall over when Gloomgazer's laughter cut through the chaos like a malevolent symphony. A fresh wave of adrenaline pricks Katsuki's skin as the villain declared, "Blinded them both now!"

Izuku's arms wrap tightly around him, fingers digging into Katsuki's shoulders almost drawing blood. Black Whip lashes out past Katsuki's ear, zipping past as if intercepting incoming crap with an eerie precision. Katsuki realizes Izuku's relying on his Danger Sense to dodge attacks blindly, and he begins to blast wildly around him hoping to hit whatever he could. Together, they dodged attacks with a synchronicity born out of years of teamwork from the past.

They needed to get the hell out of here especially if Odd Eye could appear from any angle around them. If he got his hands on them it was game over.

As Katsuki's brain races to cook up a plan, the floor beneath him seemed to come alive. It swallowed him with a sudden tug, tearing him away from the reassuring grip of Izuku's arms. Unadulterated fear wells up inside him as what felt like cool silk enveloped him, instincts screaming he's been swallowed by shadows. "Look what the cat dragged in," someone says to his left. In a flash, he tries to ignite his quirk, determined to break free. A barrage of blasts and silk recoils, dumping him on the ground.
