Chapter 30: Revenge

Soul's POV

"Papa, mama, I need to go. There's an emergency." Damien said then turned to me. "Let's go?"

Papa nodded, "Mag-iingat kayo."

"Wife?" He called me again. I don't wanna go home yet. Nixen is here. Ayokong matapos ang araw na 'to nang hindi kami nag-uusap.

I know I was wrong. I fully admit that.. but a little explanation wouldn't hurt, right? Kahit pakinggan n'ya lang ako.. kahit sandali lang.

"I'll stay." I said firmly.

"Soulistine, samahan mong umuwi ang asawa mo." I cringed upon hearing my mom mention that term.

"Dad, I'll stay. The place is full of businessmen and women. I might catch some investors here." Pangungumbinsi ko kay dad.

Business is my dad's weakness. Alam ko kung pa'no s'ya kunin.

"She's right. Damien, hayaan mo muna si Soulistine dito." Dad said in authoritative tone.

"Okay, pa." Damien agreed. He leaned forward to kiss my lips pero nag-iwas ako so his lips landed on my cheeks. Nagtataka s'yang tumingin sa'kin.

I smiled faintly. "Take care." Wika ko para hindi na s'ya makaalma pa.

Nagpaalam pa s'ya sa parents ko bago tuluyang umalis. I'm just sitting on my chair and drinking some wine. I can feel the stares behind me. Alam kong malapit lang ang table ng mga kaibigan n'ya sa'min kaya hindi ako makalingon.

Nixen is being introduced to different people. She is very preserved. Kung ngingiti s'ya ay tipid lang. But she still captures the attention of everyone. It's on her aura, hindi 'yon nawala.

"She's the girl." Dad suddenly said while looking at Nixen's direction. Sumulyap sa'kin si dad. "She's your past lover, Soulistine." He stated.

Past lover? I hated that term. Past? But she's still my lover.. sana.

"What? You had a lover before? A woman?" Nanlalaki ang matang baling sa'kin ni mommy. So dad didn't tell her.

Hindi ako agad nakasagot.

"Why didn't you tell me that she's a Villagracia?" Dad asked in regretful tone.

"Would it make a difference, dad?" I asked in low tone.

"Of course." He said that made me gasp. "Hindi ko sana siya pinagtabuyan noon." Dagdag niya.

He's talking about it casually. Can't he remember na binantaan n'ya ang buhay ni Nixen? So kung mayaman s'ya, he wouldn't do that? I can't believe him.

I looked at Nixen. She's talking to a woman with her same age. And they seem having fun. The girl is a little touchy to her.

I felt the stinging pain in my chest as I watch them. Sana kaya ko ring lumapit nang ganyan sa kanya.

"But Damien is still a good catch though." My father said. All he think about is money.

Nixen never mention anything that she is a Villagracia. Even on her papers, she is a Galvez. That's why this announcement really surprised me.

Wether she is a Galvez or Villagracia, nothing changed. Alam kong kaya n'yang maging successful without the help of anyone. She's persistent, she has goals, and is very smart.

"Oh, they are coming." My mommy said as she fix herself on her chair.

Papunta nga sila dito.

The Governor is smiling proudly. While Nixen.. her eyes were not on me. She's looking behind me where her friends are. And God knows who she's looking at.
