OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT, BY VIICERENE.

SOON after the banquet ended, I pulled Athanasia to the side. One of her heels fell off as we ran. Soon enough, tears spilled from her cheeks as she fell to the ground. "Princess Athanasia," Ijekiel called out to my sister.

"Please excuse my impropriety." He said, kneeling down and putting the heel down. Athanasia sat up to look at him, "Are you okay, Princess?" He asked.

She looked at him and I could've sworn more tears fell. Surely, I know she isn't okay. Ever since daddy lost his memories, nobody has been okay at all. Even me and Athanasia. All the pressure has been set on us.

"Don't look at her like that," I glared at him. Our father has lost memories of us. Does he think we are? At first, we were only tricking daddy in order to live on.

From the start, me and Athanasia have always been alone. With the exception of our maids, of course. We have already given up a long time ago. Why are people here so greedy? It is like I would want to go and pluck stars from the sky.

"Yes, I did not see anything." He mumbled, fixing her shoe. At this rate, me and Athanasia will be nothing but specks of dust to His Majesty.

Jennette's letters stopped coming. It's obvious, really, Sir Roger blocked their communication with me. Maybe a flower pot, tray, or mop could hit his head. "Princess (Y/n), Princess Athanasia invites you to a stroll in the park.

Maybe I could even hit him in the head again and bring him into shock therapy. Even though I may be imprisoned for lese-majeste.

"You should keep moving at times like this." Lily pulled me up and pushed me outside, Athanasia's face greeting me. It's too bright. After me and Athanasia came home in tears, I haven't come outside since.

"Let's walk, Athanasia." I said, standing up and walking to our garden. Oh how I miss the times daddy still loved and cherished us.

Once we got there, me and Athanasia started unconsciously plucking the roses. I could see the frown resting on Athanasia's face, so I decided to hug her. The wind blew our dresses, the smell of our roses being carried by the wind.

Yet as we wondered off our garden, we made a mistake. "As I thought, I shouldn't have let you both live." He said, glaring.

It was His Majesty once again. "If I had removed my sight from the both of you, there would be no reason for you both to stay and linger in my mind." He confessed. His hand lifted, a crack of lightning meeting me and Athanasia.

This time, it didn't hit us. He chuckled, "How funny, that protection magic undoubtedly holds my mana." He said. The air intensified.

"Mana does not lie, I must have been the one that put that protection spell on the two of you." He paused, intensifying his mana. "Yet I will be the one to break it." He said. He could tell that we were terrified from the looks on our faces.

But something still rang in his mind. "It is offensive." He remarked, intensifying it even more. His eyes had a weird glow in them.

"In that case, if I get rid of this, it will end." He said. The magic cut his cheek slightly, blood oozing out from his right cheek. "This suffocating feeling when your faces come to mind will soon dissapear once you're gone."

Our father even has the guts to say that to us. We're being punished right now, because daddy tried to protect us.

Just because I couldn't control my magic. "So die right now." He murmured, making sure we heard it. Even though he's treating us like this, we are still calling him daddy or papa. I don't want to die like this! Not at the hands of papa.
