OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE, BY VIICERENE.
"Have you arrived yet?" Lucas asked so suddenly. I snapped out of my trance, and had realized I was now walking on a red carpet. Hah, there's something.. As if he's prepared all of this for a specific reason!
Inexplicable sparkling, and gorgeous flowers. Surprisingly, also dinner. "What's this? You actually put some effort in?" I asked.
Lucas held a hand out to me, as we were going to board the beautiful boat. "Princess, this way." Lucas said with a smile. I knew this man was plotting something, I could sense it. As I took his arm, he pulled me down the stairs and into his arms.
"Thank you for accepting my invitation, Princess." Lucas said. He looks super concentrated on something, what is it?
I smiled at him, "What, now you're even acting the role?" I asked. He lead me somewhere with red wine and crackers. "This way," Lucas guided, pulling the seat down and making me sit. Just right - my feet were starting to ache.
Heck, they were even swollen! It scared me. "You prepared all this after you left?" I asked. Wow~ This is the Lucas with effort?
Lucas nodded, "That's right, Princess." He said. Huh, he usually calls me either darling, or by my given name, (Y/n). This time, he's actually calling me by my royal title! "You are as beautiful as ever today." Lucas said.
That certainly caught my attention. "B-beautiful?" I asked, stuttering. He is acting so weird, as if this isn't Lucas.
"Ahem," Lucas coughed, snapping. I could feel my hair sway with the soft breeze of the wind. The flowers bloomed, it was a beautiful sight to see. As if... such a thing like this would come only once in a lifetime.
How pretty... Lucas was looking at me, and was smiling. "Princess, you look so pretty tonight." Lucas said, taking a sip of his wine.
Somehow, I couldn't bring myself to drink the wine - something in my mind was preventing me to do so. But I know that my lover wouldn't just poison me, right? "Your eyes shine like exquisite jewels." Lucas said.
This isn't the appropriate time to say that they're the signature Imperial Jeweled Eyes? What am I supposed to say? Should I just thank him and continue?
Then I remembered, "Lucas, don't tell me! Are you trying to act like Duke Alpheus?" I asked, bursting into a fit of laughter as Lucas became a dinosaur. "Are you out of your mind?" He yelled. I knew he wasn't mad.
I looked up at his standing figure, "Because you're acting so differently from your usual self." I explained. It was true though!
Lucas doesn't call me 'Princess' unless we're in a formal setting because he says that we're lovers, and lovers don't stay formal when in eachother's presence. "Ugh, I knew it! I had a feeling it was all wrong." Lucas complained. He plopped down on the chair he previously sat on. "What was?" I asked, remembering that everything was all perfect a few minutes ago.
Luckily, Lucas is back to his normal self. He put a book on the table, so I took it and started inspecting it. There was no clear title, it was just a blank book. "What's this?" I asked, opening the book up.
Oh, this was the romance novel I was reading earlier. "This is the kind of stuff you like, isn't it?" Lucas asked, rubbing circles on his forehead.
"So I was trying my best to grit my teeth through the cheesiness.." Lucas rolled his eyes. I smiled, putting the book back on the table. "You were copying this?" I asked, bursting into laughter once more.
This is why I felt Ijekiel, my sister's husband! He's the literal male lead in a novel! I didn't know my lover had such a cute side to him.
You're telling me he went out of his way to read this book in order to match my preferences? "You don't have to do any of that. You're handsome enough as you are." I said, waving my hand dismissively.
