OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FORTY-NINE, BY VIICERENE.

"Do you have any last words before being taken away, Lord Uncle?" I asked, frowning deeply at my uncle. He looked away, grinning. "Who knows?" He asked. Hm, so he doesn't even want to talk, that's fine.

Well, there isn't that much to talk about anyway, "Then I hope you find your stay at the prison comfortable." I said, turning on my heel and leaving him.

I'll just stop caring about him anyway. But, I stopped once I reached Lucas. He was a whole head taller than me, so I looked up. "Lucas, once you're done with him, please go ahead and take him away." I said.

Lucas looked at the Emperor, "My business?" He asked, and I raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah, don't you have some unfinished business with Aeternitas? Or did you already take care of that?"

He glanced at my Uncle Anastasius, "No, I've got nothing to do with that thing." Lucas said, snapping. Uncle Anastasius flinched so hard, I could've sworn he bounced between the earth and the stars.

Dang, really making a point to ignore him, ah. I shook my head dissaprovingly at Lucas, "Geez, you're ruthless!" I said.

Even if Uncle Anastasius was a criminal, he's still Jennette's father, my uncle, and daddy's older brother. I sighed, "Come on, let's go, I don't wanna stay here any longer!" I said, taking out the same ticket looking paper.

"Daddy," I called out to my father, who was reading some documents. He's been relaxing ever since I've started handling some of his duties.

His gaze didn't shift to me, but he still kept reading the documents. Whatever, I knew he was listening anyway. "I've had Uncle imprisoned." I said, thinking about the rumors daddy had. "All the rumors about you should die out soon." I said.

Daddy nodded, "I see, well done." He said, still not batting an eyelid to me. My, how easy has he had it since I've picked some stuff up?

I thought... "I thought you'd instantly take off to kill him." I said. That's why I decided to keep the prison safe with some guards that are trustable enough, and I already planned out an escape plan and even put protection spells on them.

"You're the one who told me to stay still, didn't you?" Daddy said leisurely. He didn't have any panic in his voice, he was clearly enjoying vacation.

He turned his head slightly, yet his eyes were still glued to the damn documents. "Though it seems you're dangling a carrot before me now." Daddy said, flipping the papers neatly. "True, that piece of trash is no match for me."

That's true enough, Uncle Anastasius without Aeternitas is like trash to daddy. "When I think about what he's done to you, it makes me want to rip him apart."

Hehe, I was going to chew Uncle Anastasius about not being good enough for his daughter... but he was lucky that time, the nobles came to his miraculous rescue. "This time, I thought I should respect your way of doing things." Daddy said.

Yep! Especially when your daughter is the future monarch of Obelia! "My way?" I asked, smiling. Well, yeah, my way is much more.. no pain.

"You managed state affairs better than I expected." Expect the unexpected when it's about your daughter, ha? "I studied how you did it." I said, remembering how I'd look at the documents about how daddy handled things.

Such as reports, I'd usually learn a lot from that. "You did well." Daddy praised, sitting up and giving his small signature smile. I nodded.

I didn't learn all this for nothing, right? "I mean, I am your daughter, after all." I explained. I'm definitely not allowing myself to allow an empire to fall. I don't want to bring shame to all those Crown Princesses and Empresses out there.
