OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO, BY VIICERENE.
"Pardon us, Princess." A voice said, causing me to look up with a smile on my face. I was my sister and Ijekiel again. "Ijekiel, Athanasia." I said, holding a paper.
I called them up to my office in the Emerald Palace, Athanasia and I's former residence. "I called you here because the reports this year aren't matching up to last year's." I said. Athanasia and Ijekiel scanned the paper in my hands, it was their report.
"Whether it's in regards to your reacquisitions on your taxations, I can't seem to grasp the whole picture from the property report." I said.
Athanasia nodded, as if she realized something. "Oh, that'll be due to the property that was turned over to the Imperial Throne from the last incident." Athanasia explained. Oh, yeah, right, that happened.
Ijekiel shook his head, facepalming. "It seems I made a mistake. I'll make a request for the relevant documents from the palace."
I eyed my sister and her husband, waving my hand dismissively. "You both seem to be working too hard." I said. Giving them a small smile, I let go of my pen. "I don't think this is something you need to be rushing so much over." I said.
Athanasia scratched the back of her head as I grinned at her, "I was so focused on my work, I ended up getting ahead." I said.
If Athanasia didn't marry Ijekiel, I'd be free. Not that I'm complaining. I smiled at Athanasia, "Besides, I want to do what I can to help relieve the Emperor of his workload." I explained, gesturing to the piles of paper stacked on my desk.
Athanasia and Ijekiel shared a look at eachother, "I see, do you think you could give us some of your time right now?" Ijekiel asked.
I nodded, "Yes, of course. I'm not so busy that I don't have the time to drink a cup of coffee of tea with you." I said, standing up from my seat.
"This way!" I said, walking over to the seats with pre-prepared tea. Lippe tea, Athanasia's personal favorite, and my favorite tea. I didn't know what Ijekiel liked, since I'm not Athanasia.. So I often leave packs of tea.
Athanasia and Ijekiel smiled as they drank the tea. "Ijekiel, have you ever been to another country?" I asked.
The last time I asked him questions like that was when he asked me for a blessing to ask for Athanasia's hand in marriage. Ijekiel nodded in response, "Of course. I've studied abroad, and I've also gone here and there on vacation."
Might as well ask about Mieta. But I'm sure the Roger Alpheus isn't that cruel to leave Jennette and Uncle Anastasius in an unsafe place.
I put my teacup down with a clank, "What about Mieta?" I asked. Ijekiel nodded once more, "Yes, I've been there. Are you planning on visiting Jennette?" He asked, and my gaze shifted to Athanasia, who was sipping her tea peacefully while rubbing her stomach.
"Yes, after my coronation." I said, and Athanasia's eyes darted to me with grin on her face. "Really? You're getting coronated?"
I nodded, "Yes, I am." I said, picking up my teacup and leaning back on the couch. Ijekiel and Athanasia laughed slightly, "Well, from what we recall, it's quite a lively place." Woah, Athanasia already went to Mieta?
"You've been to Mieta?" I asked, eyes wide with shock. Athanasia giggled, "We've been there for our honeymoon." She explained.
Oh, yeah, honeymoons are a norm already. "The smell off the ocean, the crying of seagulls, it's a city that wakes in the morning to the sound of boat horns." Athanasia described, eyes lighting up as she described a beautiful city.
