OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FOURTY-FIVE, BY VIICERENE.

I sat beside daddy's bedside. It seems that, during the tea time with Jennette and Athanasia, daddy suddenly started coughing up blood. And here I was, weeping pitifully. I'm supposed to be strong right now.

Felix and Lily were standing beside me, wondering what to do while I sobbed uncontrollably. "Your Highness, it seems that His Majesty has stabilized, so please go back and rest."

How am I able to rest? My father's not waking up at all. And, he's unbelieveably pale. He's paler than ever!! I shook my head at them, wiping off the stray tears dripping down. "I wanna stay here, stay with daddy." I said.

Felix was smiling softly, patting my back. He looked at daddy, "I'll let you know as soon as His Majesty wakes up." Felix said.

Yet, to think that he randomly coughed up some blood while with Athanasia, who was asking to marry Ijekiel. That's kind of suspicious. Perhaps his tea was laced with some poison? Or someone used black magic?

Lily smiled too, "You should get some sleep, Your Highness." She said, caressing my face gently. I took one look at my father, and the door was greeted with a knock.

Felix and Lily looked at the door. It opened, revealing Lucas. He was dressed up in the clothes I left him, since I told him that he looks much better in formal clothes. He walked closer to me, extending a hand out for me to hold.

His eyes flickered, "Princess, come. I'll escort you to your room." Lucas said. I nodded, putting my hand in his and standing up to leave the room.

Fine. It seems like you have something to say about daddy's condition, so I'll allow you to bring me to my room. It better be good news though, Lucas. He smiled, "Let's go, Princess." He said. His eyes were glowing.

And once we got to my room he crossed his arms, foot tapping the marble floor. "They said that there weren't any traces of poison or magic, so I wonder what happened."

Athanasia herself, who is a little skilled in using magic, couldn't detect a single trace of magic at the site. There were having tea as usual, and daddy suddenly collapsed after coughing some blood out.

Lucas thought for a moment, "There's no way that his condition would just suddenly worsen like that." Lucas said.

I sat down, trying to process all the information entering my brain. "Something must have interfered." he said. So, technically, something must have interfered, causing daddy to cough up blood and collapse.

Okay, I get it. "The palace magicians said there weren't any traces." I said. Even the best one couldn't find a single trace.

Lucas rolled his eyes at the thought of those magicians, "Yeah, because they're straight up idiots." He said. Yeah, that's true. They don't even know how to use their magic properly. And... I don't know what happened to that magician.

That magician that tried to heal me when my mana exploded... but only worsened my condition was thrown into the dungeon.

I don't even know what happened dto him after that. Lily and Felix didn't tell me about him anymore. Lucas then stood up straight, sitting down on the couch in front of me. "There's still a faint trace of magic wavelength that was left behind."

...Magic wavelength? Those idiots! I'm gonna throw them into the dungeon with all those skeletons beside them!

They went to expensive schools meant for nobles. Did they not learn anything there? I looked at Lucas, "I'll be punishing those magicians soon." I said. Did someone perhaps do it on purpose? What was their motive?
