OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE, BY VIICERENE.

TODAY, my agenda was to follow Jennette into the empty emerald palace. Since Ijekiel wasn't able to come with Roger because he was busy, Roger made Jennette his personal little guardie. And, I'm here to make sure that my spot won't be taken.

"Princess, are you here?" Jennette's voice echoed in the room. "Yeeesss!" I smiled, appearing infront of her.

She's probably here to see what my room looks like. "You were suprised, right?" I scratched the back of her head. She shook her head, "No, I am perfectly fine, Princess." She was looking down this time, looking guilty.

I know she saw Athanasia in a maid dress a few somethings ago. I put my hand under her chin, lifting it up so we could make eye contact.

"Is His Majesty all right?" I asked her. If she won't tell me, I will force it out of her. Just like I did to Uncle Anastacius last night. "I don't know the details, but Mister Knight took him away after he regained conciousness. I wonder if he's been ill since last time."

Oh no, she will be the one to claim Athanasia's spot. But then again, She was supposed to be the Princess of Obelia. If daddy didn't end Uncle Anastacius reign, she could've been the heir.

But, after getting hurt by my mana explosion? Still, papa? I let go of her chin a little harshly, "Um, and I was granted an audience with His Majesty." No way. She's gonna go up third place!! I can't let that happen! Jennette is easily manipulated.

"Pardon?" She looked me in the eye, "I think it is to reward me." She said. If this happens, Athanasia and I would lose authority to enter any of the palaces.

Even worse, we would be executed for treason. Might aswell congratulate Jennette. "Really? Wow! Have fun, Jettie." I smiled. Daddy still hasn't regained any of his memories of me. It will be dangerous to leave him with Jennette.

If he accepts Jennette as a Princess, she would be Princess Jennette and I would be in a really pathetic and miserable situation as always.

"Jennette, are you sick?" I asked her. We may or not have slept very late. Plus, she seems very very pale right now. "No, it's nothing." She said, clutching her pillow tightly. I know very well something is wrong.

She always does this when something is bothering her. "Jennette, is something perhaps bothering you?" I asked.

She sat up carefully, looking me in the eye softly. "The t-truth is that I'm your older sister and I have jeweled eyes and I accidentally got red handed by a stranger." She quickly said. Is Uncle Anastasius that forgotten by everyone?

"N-no, It's okay." I held her hand. I wonder what's worrying me right now. Is she going something emotionally distressing at the moment?

Our usual tea time was once again, in the Emerald Palace. Since nobody inhabits it, might aswell live in it for a while. "Jennette," I called her. She looked straight at me, gently setting her teacup down on the table. "Yes?"

She was all flowers and sunshine. "The truth is... I saw the gentleman that we saw in the market coincidentally." I nervously smiled.

"Is he a guest?" I asked. "Ah, yes! It's such a coincidence, right? He seems to have been staying in the Alpheus Manor since a few days ago." She explained. What?? He was been staying there since a few days agoooo??

"How interesting. Does he have anything to do with the Margarita or Alpheus family?" As much as I want to spill everything, I can't risk it.

"I don't really know.. Mister doesn't even tell me anything about these kinds of things... And I didn't really ask about it." She said. Obviously, Roger doesn't like telling these stuff to anyone, especially Jennette.
