OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER THIRTY, BY VIICERENE.
IT WAS the night after the debut. The princess has already changed into her clothing for sleep, and she was trying to look for a certain constellation that was famous constellation that was fascinating for all royals- Constellation Joline Silven. Although her story is so long, the Princess even had a book waiting for her on the railings.
"Hmph. This is no fun, I expected you to be crying." A voice said, snapping her out of the little animation she made in her head.
"And why should I be crying?" She asked him, just turning her head to the side in amusement. "Be honest, you stepped on a lot of feet," Lucas said, jumping onto the railings.
"No, I didn't. But I thought you were at the castle at nine?" She asked. How would he know that she stepped on Solid and Nozel's feet?
"What? It seems I wasn't the only person you dance with today, then." Lucas said, nearing his face to yours unamusedly. "Does that mean somebody else smudged this onto you again?"
Your jeweled eyes glimmered in the moonlight. Certainly, the pink tint was gone, replacing her looks with Claude's young, baby face features.
"I don't know where you even got this from." He said, flicking her forehead. "You're always such a handful, always needing repairs," Lucas said to the Princess, flicking away the unknown thing.
"And showing up with something smudged on you," He said, thinking about the reason why he saved her back then.
"What was it?" You asked him, rubbing the sore area as you felt like your body became lighter. "Just... Something dirty." Lucas said, shooing the black magic cast onto you away.
Now, Lucas smiled. "Now go to bed." He pointed to your neatly fixed bed. But as if you were being controlled by something, you ran to your bed.
Tucking yourself in, you looked up at the new image that was hanging on your roof - a raining illusion.
Yes, you loved the rain. Its calming sounds, and its smell. From the books you have read, it sure was nice. It makes things grow, and it gives you creativity!
But the best thing about it, was playing in the soft rain while Athanasia, Claude, and Lucas were busy! Nobody could see you. (Except when you wear neon colors. So that's why you wear beige.)
"What the heck are you doing?" Lucas asked, also looking up at the illusion of rain. "Lie down, and get tucked in." You said, sweatdropping.
"Listen to a lullaby," Lucas said, and with a flick of a finger, music filled the room. "And sleep tight." He said, which was awfully weird. 'Is Lucas being kind or not?' You asked yourself.
Staying silent for a while, your mind drifted back to what Lucas said earlier. "Hmph, this is no fun, I expected you to be crying," You thought for a while,
'Did he come to my room in the middle of the night, thinking that I would be crying because I messed up my debutante?'
"Sweet dreams, Lucas," Y/n said, catching his attention as he smiled. "You too." He said, watching you as he sat on the railings.
---
At this point, you were asleep. Lucas's attention drifted onto your sleeping figure, thinking if he should leave you in your room. But staying silent for a moment, his red eyes glowed.
'I only stuck around here because I thought it would be some fun...' He thought, raising a portion of your hair. 'But she'll die if I leave her mana overflowing like this,"
The image of Claude holding a guitar over his head was painful. If he let his daughter die because of a lot of mana, then surely anti-magic cuffs would be needed so that Claude can torture Lucas for a long time.
"..." He was silent as he ate some of your mana. Your hair was gleaming, gold.
Flowers surrounded the two of you, and it was one of your favorite flowers, the Yellow Elder. "Should I stay a little longer?" He asked himself, twirling your blonde hair.
'It is rather fun,' Lucas thought. Humming, getting up to leave, he peeked back at your sleeping figure. "Sure. I guess I can stay here longer."
AT THE ALPHEUS MANOR
"Are you truly out of your mind?" Roger asked Jennette, clearly not happy about the events she caused.
"I specifically told you not to make a move on your own." Roger was trying to contain his anger because if he was caught doing rude things to a Princess of Obelia, he would be detained and tortured.
"You chased after the Princess without any idea in mind, and showed yourself before His Majesty in a bold way," Roger said to Jennette, but seeing the blank look that she was displaying on her face, he asked.
"Are you listening, Jennette?" He asked her. "No," Jennette blankly said.
"..." Roger stayed silent. After a few long hours of him lecturing her, his words couldn't even get into her head.
"Father, it is Jennette's debutante. Can you not lecture and pester her? It is supposed to be a happy day for us, she is having her debut." Ijekiel said, potentially saving her from a few more hours of a boring lecture.
---
And now, Roger's mind went to the events he did a few hours ago. "No, in this case, I can be sure." Claude paused for a moment. "Until these children have split into two," Claude said surely.
"After all the effort you've put in... What a spectacle have you become, duke."
