OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FOURTY-FOUR, BY VIICERENE.

"Daddy," I called out to my father, fixing the boquet of flowers in my hands. I've finally mustered up all the courage to ask him. "The weather has been quite pleasant lately, why don't we go out to the lake?" I offered.

The same lake Athanasia almost drowned in. There was a plant in it that fed on humans, but luckily daddy had it removed a few years ago.

Daddy looked at me, face barely containing any emotion at all. He doesn't even get mad when I call him daddy anymore. I still need to keep calling him that. I then smiled infront of him, taking another step towards his desk.

"We used to go quite frequently. Besides, the flowers have bloomed around the lake. And it's not good for your health to work nonstop." I said, putting the boquet in a big vase.

I then looked up to meet his eyes, "Will you come with me?" I asked him. Hopefully, my tone came off as polite. "...Sure." He said, eyes almost happily returning to the pile of work beside him.

Omygosshh!! "What?" I asked, of course just to make sure. "Really?" I smiled. Are his memories back already?

Zaamm! He's become mild! "Was that a joke?" He asked me. No, no! It wasn't! I'm literally serious, you never accept outing with me or Athanasia. She's going on an outing with... Him. "No, no! I just mean..." I trailed off.

I smiled, walking to the door to prepare my departure. Finally, he's warmed up to me once again. Athanasia would be happy to hear that.

"I'm glad!" I said. What should we do about Miss Margarita? Invite her so her chance of taking my father gets higher? No, her only purpose is for my father to not faint in the ball or experience any headaches. That would make him not spend time with me anymore.

He then looked back up with me with a shocked expression. Huh? Why is he looking at me like that?

He then calmed down and turned to his work once again. "If you want to invite her, do as you wish." He said. We need to, because you'd faint because of that massive headache that you experience when you're with me.

I nodded, halfway out of the door to his office. "Okay, I'll send word. How does tomorrow sound?" I asked.

He nodded. "Then tomorrow it is!" I gleefully smiled. This is one of the first times I'm able to spend a long time with daddy. Well - second time. Because of that little tea party with Miss Margarita.

I then walked out, but before shutting the doors behind me, I made sure to let him know that I'm his daughter. "Thank you, daddy!"

I then hooked my fingers on the handle, closing it softly. I wouldn't want to anger him and possibly lose my life today! I looked down at my heels. "Finally, daddy is warming up to me again." I said, covering my face with my hands.

--- SKIP, TOMORROW MORNING

Today, Jennette and I were dressed to the nines and standing beside eachother. She seemed amazed - eyes sparkling and smile visible.

The maids, Hannah, Ces, and Lily, walked up to me, bowing. I could've sworn that Hannah shot a glare to Jennette. No, no, no! We need to make her feel welcomed or else she wouldn't come here anymore.

If that happens, I will never be able to spend time with my father once again. The maids then pointed to the boat, smiling.

"We've prepared a large boat so Her Highness, His Majesty, and their honorable guest may safely enjoy the lake." Ces said. Finally, someone that seems much more nicer. Lily however, was sweaty. She seemed nervous.
