OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT, BY VIICERENE.
I looked at daddy, smiling sadly. Look at him, sleeping so peacefully while everyone around him is losing their minds. "We will have His Majesty moved to a location much more suited for the ritual." Felix said.
Felix seemed determined, so I turned to him. "I'll prepare the appropriate space, so..." I said, looking away from Felix, and looking back at daddy.
I was feeling sad, I have always been. Ever since daddy has fallen into this magic-induced sleep. "I will carry His Majesty in my arms to the location." Felix said, earning him a laugh from me. Gosh, since mom died, its as if Felix and Daddy have been couple-ing.
"Hm, will you, Felix?" I asked, laughing softly. He looked down on the floor, seeming dissapointed with the recent events.
He frowned, "Since the only thing I can do is wait here, I'd like to help in any way I can." Felix said. But wow, you're gonna carry daddy in your arms? I guess it'd be hard to carry daddy on Felix's back because he's unconscious, but still..
I shook my head at Felix's idea, "No, it's okay. You don't need to worry too much about this." I said, sweatdropping.
Lucas then turned to us, making his way to Felix. "It'll be much easier with magic." Lucas said, tapping Felix on the shoulder as he withered away. I smiled at him, "Don't worry, Felix, your presence alone is as encouraging as it is, Felix, so no need to reproach yourself."
Felix kneeled before me, "In that case, Princess, I shall await your safe return." He said, and I immediately bent down to hug him.
"Right." I said.
--- SKIP TO THE LOCATION
Daddy was now laid down onto the... stone hard bed that had the glowing leaves of the World Tree. Lucas took the branch out, a rustle heard from it. It was beautiful, it was warm and welcoming, "I still don't know if this is giving you the right call."
I nodded, "It'll be alright, just have some faith in me!" I said. Lucas groaned, but still opened his mouth to speak - "I'll say this again, the World Tree is...."
Cutting him off, I was in a rush. "I heard you the first hundred times. I get it already." I said, dismissing him. He frowned, "Take this seriously, one wrong move and you'll never be able to return!" He said.
I sweatdropped, "Okay, fine, I understand." I said. According to the one and only mighty Lucas that apparently everyone loves,
Coming into direct contact with the World Tree is the equivalent of throwing my consciousness into the essence of the World Tree itself. In comparison, it'd be like lone water droplet falling into the vast ocean.
If I'm not careful, my soul could become lost in that ocean and lose way for all of eternity. "In the face of the world's essence, you will become unable to distinguise yourself and all the elements."
The inhabitants of the nearby palace, the birds in the clear blue sky, the creatures that scurry along the ground. A pebble on the ground. A single blade of grass by the road. The stream of the world will force itself in my head.
The moment I lose myself in it, I will never be able to return into my own body. If I don't want to lose myself in that vast ocena for all of eternity, I need to pull myself together.
"No matter what, you must only follow your dad's mana. Do you understand?" Lucas asked. I nodded, yes, I do. I took my dad's hand, and Lucas took my other hand. "Speak your name." He said, putting the World Tree's hand in my hand.
"(Y/n)." I muttered, "And remember it well." Lucas reminded letting go of the branch and putting it all in my hand.
My mana, my soul. I need to remember who I am.
