OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR, BY VIICERENE.
All the jewelry, was put on my neck, and now, Lily was doing the final touches on my face using some blush. The maids were smiling, and some of them, those who were with me since I was a baby, were close to tears.
A crown was placed upon my head as they finished it, and they were all excited. "You're so beautiful, Princess!" They smiled.
They've done it again, they were going to start small with the tears, and once I walk on stage, they're going to start crying an ocean and Athanasia would comfort them. Lily hugged me gently from the side, trying to avoid my belly.
She dusted off an imaginary dust off my face, "Princess, does anything feel uncomfortable?" She asked with a small smile on her face.
I shook my head and returned the favor, flashing her my small signature smile. This was the day, the day I was going to take my title as the Crown Princess of Obelia. "Then shall we get going?" Lily asked.
I nodded, starting to walk away from the group of maids that tended to me. "(Y/n)." A voice called out to me, causing me to look up.
The person took a step forward, and it was daddy! I could hear all the maids squeal once they saw him, and I smiled at him. Daddy was clearly dressed to the nines, he pulled out all the expensive jewelry and had all the insignias on his chest.
I barely even saw these - the last time I did, I was around six or seven. Meaning, I last saw them thirteen to twelve years ago.
They also accumulated dust the last time I saw them, so daddy obviously hade these insignias cleaned by one of the maids in the Main Palace. But wow, daddy was blinding! It was a new look, where you couldn't see his chest.
I smiled from ear-to-ear once I saw my father standing before me, "Daddy, you look so handsome today." I said.
Once daddy heard those words come from my mouth, he flashed a small smile and fixed his robe of state. He looked down on me, patting my shoulder. "You look very pretty as well." Daddy said.
Smiling, I looked at daddy. "It's my big day, daddy. I made sure to give it my all." I explained, fixing my robe too.
He held a hand out for me to take, returning back to his original stoic self. "Let's go, the guests have already arrived." Daddy said, and I immediately nodded, muttering a small yes. We were on our way to the venue.. when I remembered yesterday's events.
Right, "Daddy," I called out to him, and he hummed as we both continued on walking. "Yesterday.. what did you mean when you said you were sad?" I asked.
Daddy stopped in his tracks as we both looked at eachother's jeweled eyes. Daddy sighed, looking away from me and instead looking at the floor. "It was a slip of tongue, forget about it." Daddy said.
But if it was just a slip of tongue, why did he say such a thing? I'd expect it to be something much more random.
And mom said that we should voice our thoughts more often, so daddy will get one more scolding from mom when he goes to the other side. Additionally, I really wanna know since daddy just immediately dismissed it.
I shook my head in dissaproval, "What, tell me!" I said. I knew Felix was listening in to daddy and I's conversation, so I'll just play safe for now.
Daddy still stared at the floor, not blinking. As if the two were having a staring contest with eachother. "It was because I suddenly sensed how my youngest grew up." Daddy said with a small frown.
Right, I was once a child that was desperate to live and not die by the hands of daddy. "It seems like just yesterday when you were this little thing, toddling after me." Daddy said.
