--- OBELIA'S ROSE, CHAPTER 1, BY VIICERENE.

"What will it take for you to love us?" Tears dripped from his daughter's cheeks as they gripped his pants, obviously upset at their father's actions. Both want justice for themselves, as they were hurt their father pushed them away in a swift motion.

"If we were Jennette, would you love us the same way you are to her?" (Name) asked. The emperor peeked at his daughters, looking at him with those eyes. That face, and that hair. He couldn't help but remember his lover that left him.

"Will you love and cherish us in your arms, without pushing us away?" Athanasia asked, tears dripping even more from their eyes. But somehow, deep in his heart, he felt the tiniest spark of love coming

"We're your daughter too, father. We were by your side much longer than Jennette." The girls cried out. "You... fools. There was never a day that I considered you both as my daughters." Claude said coldly. His jeweled blue eyes contained a burning passion to kill them.

Claude was heartless to the very end. The deepest of despair flooded through Athanasia and (Y/n)'s eyes like never before, causing their burning flames to ignite even more.

"GAAHH!" A princess cried. The maid, Liliane York, was tending to Athanasia, the crying child. She had dropped her rattle often, and the maid was already becoming quite irritated. "Oh, bother. How clumsy, she keeps dropping it. Don't be a nuisance and play quietly with your toys, miss." The maid said while giving it to the girl.

(Y/n) could only overhear how the maid talked to her sister. The tone was all wrong, even if she couldn't understand what the maid said.

"WAAAAAAAAAAH!" Athanasia cried. A maid rushed in, and that maid was no other than Lilian York. She picked up the young child and started coddling her gently as if it was a mother and a child. "Why is my Princess so upset?" Lilian asked the child, nervously sweat-dropping.

"Maybe you're hungry?" She asked the soothed baby as her mind lingered off to think about her previous mistress, Lady Diana, the mother of the baby she was carrying right then and there. "Oh, aren't you the spitting image of your father.."

Yet Diana died of something that could've been prevented. If 'she' wasn't deflowered by Claude, she could've lived a long life even if she named her daughter 'Athanasia'

"Please do not cry, Princess." Liliane hushed, flipping the page and skipping the one that showed an ugly man that didn't wash his hair. This time, it showed Claud and Diana's photo together, hugging each other with happy smiles plastered on their faces.

The one-year-olds looked happy enough to see their father and mother, even if they were just an illustration from a book. Tracing each detail and letter, Athanasia cursed the emperor.

But now, (Y/n) turned the page and a picture of an unknown lady from somewhere else. A mini version of Diana, she had red jeweled eyes, a whole crown on her head, and seemingly heavy embroidery stitched onto her dress.

"And now, if we flip this page," Liliane said, "It will show a blank page, which can only be updated every five hundred years, by a magician that is currently unknown by even His Majesty," Liliane explained, showing the Princesses the blank page.

"And as we speak, the book is waiting to be updated as it's the date." She said, glancing at the two content with what Liliane said as if they understood her.

"Do the princesses want to go and meet His Majesty?" Liliane laughed, bouncing the two up and down as (Y/n) has now fallen into her little wonderland inside her mind, sucking her salty thumb that touched an old page.

"It seems you are sleepy. Perhaps we could visit His Majesty another time?"
