Chapter 14: The Game Plan

The group trailed after Marya who was moving hastily, weaving swiftly through the crowded building, they all did their best to keep up.

Jiro didn't appear to struggle at all, he actually appeared to be holding back, he wasnt having any issues moving through the crowd, or atleast, he didn't show it. Jiro's face was almost always in a neutral state, it was unclear what he was thinking or feeling at any given moment or if he even did feel.

Kiburi and Lara were neck and neck, as they ran next to eachother, Kiburi turned to look at Lara, winked cheakily at her, and then sped off past her, Lara rolled her eyes and ran after him.

Silvio was lacking behind, huffing and puffing as he struggled to keep up with the group, eventually he started to shout with what little air he had.

"Hey, can we please just slow down huff", Silvio pleaded as he gasped for air, he slumped down and put his hands on his knees. Lara and Jiro scurted to a halt and ran back to Silvio, Marya and Kiburi threw their hands into the air in a fit and stomped back towards the group.

"Are you alright, do you require water or healing?", Jiro began, inspecting Silvio and pulling out various items from his bag such as a flask full of water and multiple potions of diverse colors, Jiro got a bit close for comfort to Silvio, which caused Silvio to pull back and blushed a little bit.

"Heh, uhm, i-im quite alright, I just needed a breather", Silvio stuttered as Jiro placed all the objects he summoned from his bag back into it and stepped back.

"We can slow down if you need us to?", Lara asked empathetically as she helped her friend to his feet.

"Actually no we cant slow down, whoever took that damn key is more than likely on the move right now, which means the longer we take, the farther they get from us", Kiburi cut in, speaking in frustration.

"If cat boy cant keep up then maybe he should just stay behind, this isnt even his problem", Marya butted in.

"No, we need him", Lara insisted.

"They have a point Lara, why am I even here?", Silvio questioned, unsure why he was even here if he was just slowing everyone down.

"Dont do that thing where you make yourself seam useless, we need you, I need you", Lara said, picking up Silvio and trying to comfort him.

"But why, what could you possibly need me for?", Silvio questioned further, perplexed by her persistence.

"We need you because you have something we dont have", Lara stated.

"Claws?", Kiburi guessed.

"Whiskers?", Marya guessed.

"Wait, PAW BEANS!", Kiburi and Marya said in unison.

"NO! I was referring to his magic!", Lara exclaimed.

"Ohh, yeah that does make more sense", Kiburi nodded in agreeance as Lara sighed in annoyance.

"But Im not that good with my magic?", Silvio added

"Not yet, Lehrerin has been holding you and your potential hostage in that classroom, everyone knows that the best way to learn is by being thrown in the deep end!", Lara explained enthusiastically.

"And what happens if I drown?", Silvio probed.

"Wellllll-", Lara hesitated but was interrupted by an impatient Marya.

"We dont have time for this!", Marya blurted.

"Well, now that we are here, you could take a little time to explain where were going?", Lara said as she turned to look at Marya.

"Ugh, fine! We met the guy who hired us at a tavern outside the city in Waldrand", Marya explained after letting out an upset groan.

"The town beside the Dark Forest?", Silvio queried.

"Yes, that one, as I was saying, the guy didn't ask us first, he was asking anybody and everybody at the tavern, we were just the fools to actually take the deal", Marya said as she lowered her head in shame.

"And how will going back there help us find the guy?", Lara asked.

"Well, chances are we wont find him there, but im hoping we might be able to ask around and see if anybody there knows atleast something about him that can help us track the thief".

"You do know that your literally a thief right?", Lara added.

"He stole from me, no one steals from me!", Marya shouted as she angrily jumped up and down, Kiburi held his mouth, trying to stiffle a laugh.

"That's a better plan than I was expecting, so with that we shall set off on our quest!", Lara announced, holding her mace high above her head as she ran off ahead, with everyone following after.

"Oh come on, not again!", Silvio immediately got up and began chasing after them as best he could.
