Suddenly everyones eyes were on Lara, the silence was defeaning, it was as if time and frozen still around her.
"I-I can explain!", Lara stammered.
"Please do", Silvio responded, stepping closer to her slowly.
"So when I said that helping me would get you guys out of prison, I may have left out the part where I...hadn't asked yet..." Lara explained nervously, shrinking into a whisper as she spoke.
"You lied to us?", Kiburi spoke up, his expression fading into a mix between shock and disappointment.
"I just assumed that after helping me, they would pardon you, you're going to pardon them right?", Lara turned quickly to face Roland, staring at him hopefully.
"That wasn't part of the deal kid, im sorry, but they still committed a crime, they have to do their time", Roland replied remorsefully.
"Why didn't you just ask in the first place?!", Marya exclaimed.
"I had already asked for so much, I didn't want to risk it", Lara explained, this caught Marya off guard, infuriating her even further.
"Oh so our freedom was too much?! You lying bitch!", Marya screamed, the knights having to hold her back.
"Come on guys, my future was on the line, you have to understand?", Lara pleaded.
"What about our futures? Were we just that disposable to you?", Kiburi said, this hit her like a brick to the stomach.
"I-", Lara tried to say something, but was interrupted.
"Save it, I thought you were different, guess I was wrong...", Kiburi said, his words held no malice, only sadness. He and Marya let the knights take them away without struggle.
Lara turned to Jiro
"Jiro, please say something", Lara begged.
He looked at her for a moment, but then lowered his head in dejection as they guided him out of the ruins.
Silvio had finally come face to face with her, she stood and waited for his response, but when he said nothing she finally said something.
"I know you are mad, but you have to understand-",
"No, I dont understand, I thought we were in it together?"
"We- We still are, just you and me till the end, like we promised?"
"Not anymore", Silvio said plainly, suddenly he flexed his paws and his claws shot out as he slashed Lara's face, tears rolling down his face.
Lara turned in pain, gripping her face as blood mixed with tears poured down it.
Roland reacted by restraining him immediately.
"What the hell has gotten into you?!", Roland hollered.
"Take me away...with my friends", Silvio said as he stared directly into Lara's eyes with pure wrath.
"Fine, have it your way", Roland said as he threw him to the remaining knights as they carried him off.
"You alright kiddo?", Roland asked her, she looked up at him.
"He's never used his claws before", Lara said as she broke down into tears, planting her face into Roland's chest, Roland holding her in his arms as he let out a sigh.
Roland allowed her to let it all out before he spoke.
"We have to go Lara, we need to escort them back to the city, not to mention giving your mother the news that you passed the test"
"I dont want to go with them, I dont think I can be around them right now", Lara refused, whiping the tears and blood from her face.
"*sigh*, alrighty, but do be safe, you and I both know these woods are treacherous", Roland told her, leaving her behind.
Lara collapsed to the floor, allowing to darkness to encompass her as she sat in silence.
