Marya pushed open the door and walked into the tavern, she scanned the room before moving forward. The tavern was packed, and the majority of the patrons glared at them with abhorrence. Many of them were brandishing their weapons while glaring at them.
"Put your toys down boys, were not here for a fight", Marya said playfully as she passed them by and strolled towards the bar, the group followed her hastily.
A group of ladies sitting at a table nearby waved flirtatiously at Kiburi, Kiburi responded with a prideful flex of his muscles, Lara just rolled her eyes and walked ahead towards Marya.
"So what exactly is your plan here?", Lara whispered, lowering her head to be level with Marya's ear.
"Im going to talk to the eyes and ears of this fine establishment, the bartender", Marya explained as the arrived at the bar, she turned around swiftly to face the guys.
"You three go get a table and order whatever you want, Lara's treat", Marya said, pointing towards a table a couple feet away from the bar, Silvio and Jiro agreed and went over to the table, Kiburi was headed that way as well before Marya grabbed his arm and pulled him back to her.
"Dont do anything stupid!", She said through gritted teeth before pushing him away and turning back to the bar.
"What was that about?", Lara asked.
"Just some precautions, the people here dont just hate us for no reason", Marya explained as she tried to get on top of the bar stool, Lara stifled a giggle as Marya struggled.
"Do you need help, do you need uppies?", Lara asked condescendingly.
"Screw off", Marya snapped, she was able to eventually pull herself up onto the stool, once she did, she sat and waited semi-patiently for the bartender, this lasted about a minute before she lost her patience, picked an ice cube out of a nearby glass and casually tossed it at the bartenders head, he spun around to see a blonde girl in fancy armor and a dwarf sitting with her hands together, swaying her head back and forth with a big smile, he let out a sigh and stomped over to them
"Can I help you ladies?", he asked through gritted teeth, faking a smile.
"Why yes, you can help us! I'd like a White Lavinan, and she'll have an Old Fashioned", Marya said, but she was interrupted by Lara.
"I'm only eighteen!", Lara objected.
"My bad, get her a Moscato", Marya apologized, before whispering back to bartender, he shook his head and began making their drinks.
"What are you doing? Were not here for drinks!", Lara nagged.
"Just give me a second, you dont come into this type of place asking the bartender questions without ordering a drink, its just poor manners", Marya explained, holding up a finger to shush Lara.
Eventually he came back and set two drinks infront of them, he was about to walk off when Marya stopped him.
"Actually one other thing, you see we are actually looking for someone we met the last time we were here, and we wondering if you might know something?", Marya asked politely.
"You were here a few days ago, and when you were, your friend got into a fight and I had to usher you both out", the bartender explained, Lara realized that this was probably what Marya scolded Kiburi about earlier.
"I assure you I had a long talk with him, I will keep my idiot in line", Marya said as she glared at Kiburi from where she was, he was sitting there talking to the ladies from earlier from where he was sitting as Silvio and Jiro sat awkwardly in silence, Kiburi noticed her and waved playfully, Marya turned back to the bartender.
"Look I dont get paid enough to care, so unless you're willing to order another drink then I suggest you and your friends leave", the bartender said blatantly.
"Fine, we'll take another each, now can we do business?", Marya asked in irritation.
"Gladly, the person you're looking for, I'm gonna need a description?", the bartender quickly pulled out a sheet of paper and a pencil.
"I didn't get much of him since he wore a hood and never made eye contact, but I was able to see they had long dark hair, rather messy too, a scar on their right eye that dragged downwards on his face, dark skin, and a mole on his chin", Marya said as the bartender scribbled it all down, Lara was surprised she was able to get all that and remember it too.
"Well, to be perfectly honest, this is more than enough to work with, and I do remember this guy from that day, but sadly I have nothing on him, I havent seen him since then or prior, I wish I could do more", the bartender, genuinely sorry that he couldn't help any.
"It's alright, thank you for your help anyways", Marya said dismally as she finished her drink and hopped down off the stool.
"Damnit that was our only lead, the hell are we gonna do now!", Lara exclaimed, trying not to panic.
"Just give me a bit, I'm gonna think of something!", Marya said, she began to pace back and forth.
As Marya was desperately trying to think of a solution, a loud scream erupted from the crowd and a man came flying between Marya and Lara and crashed into the bar, they turned to look in the direction he flew and saw Kiburi standing there, his face melted from anger to fear as Marya stared into his eyes with fury.
"I said dont do anything stupid!", Marya roared.
"I can explain", Kiburi said with a guilty smile.
